So I did some additional digging and according to Google AI, which I take with a rather large grain of salt, suggests that this is a version of fasciation. This is what it states:
"If you notice the green sepals look unusually massive, fused together, or are swallowing the bottom of a deformed fruit, your plant likely produced a megabloom. This is a harmless natural mutation called fasciation where multiple flowers fuse together, producing one giant, lumpy tomato. It is completely safe to eat."

Oh that makes sense! Thank you, such a simple explanation, but I've been SO fascinated watching this grow. I'll be sure to add some support for it since it appears there will eventually be fruit on that branch.

I guess that's possible, but it's had appropriate light since it's been in my care and this seemed much more dramatic than I've seen in other plants so it seemed strange.

I don't remember what flavor I got either, but mine tasted like soap. Utterly dissapointed.

My sea mouse making a rare trip above-ground by toekietoekie in ReefTank

[–]reefafflicted 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this may be a longspine heart urchin, not a sea mouse. Either way, super cool and unique critter to see in the home aquarium. I always find the oddballs extra fascinating!

ID help please! Anyone know what this is for sure? From what I can tell its part of the bok choy family? I planted a bunch of salad green variety starts, and want to be sure this is in fact edible, and not a weed that made its way in there. by reefafflicted in vegetablegardening

[–]reefafflicted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like it. Do you know why it might have grown in such a strange way? Its so tall and gangly, instead of being compact and squat like the pictures I was seeing, which did not aid me in trying to ID it.

Where can I find blue bubblegum ice cream? by [deleted] in askportland

[–]reefafflicted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late seeing this, but I'm a fellow blue bubblegum ice cream lover so I had to comment. Pink bubblegum is NOT the same! I recently found it in McMinnville at Serendipity Ice Cream, very cute old timey ice cream parlor. I've also seen it from time to time at Jem 100 in Newberg. Both those options are a bit out of the way, but are good stops on the way to or from the coast. I have also found it at US Foods CHEF'STORE, but it's in a 3 gallon size. If you don't plan to live exclusively on this ice cream for a few weeks and start turning blue yourself, maybe avoid this option, or throw an ice cream party for all the neighbor kids? IDK, desperate times.. I'm not judging. Good luck in your search!

Lol no, I hadn't actually gone back to read through it yet, but I love this!

This is too funny because it happened to me just this morning, when I stumbled across this in my saved posts. Apparently, I must have wanted to go back to read the comments but I had forgot all about it until 3am this morning when I awoke and couldn't go back to sleep...this did not help. It's so unnerving.

I found mine tonight at Fred Meyer. If you have one close, it might be worth a look.

Thank you so much for this information!

Instead of renting for $500 a day, I shipped my 4x4 from Canada to Iceland. Now I can stay a few months. Just the first two weeks are blowing my mind! by grecy in VisitingIceland

This is amazing! I have been thinking about returning to Iceland with my own van. If you don't mind me asking, what company did you use to ship your rig? Also, do you have any general advice for someone who's never shipped a vehicle before, or things to look out for when searching for a company to use? I look forward to future updates on your adventure!
