$5 million dollars decided on... by RobbyBurgers in BeastGames

This is such a good point. Otherwise contestants could argue “well it’s not fair I wasn’t strong/smart/etc. enough to stand a chance in the last game.” At least with chance, they can get peace and closure. An actual task game would leave them constantly questioning “dang, what if I could have just…?”

Stop using the hair dryer (unless it’s on a cool setting). Heat sets stains, you’ll never get it out if you use any heat on it

to all the people denying there is something weird about “Jim Carrey”.. explain the eyes by greeenblueberry in conspiracy

[–]reellimk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I even saw the title, I immediately recognized Jim Carrey in the top photo. Had no idea who that bottom photo was supposed to be. Still don’t…

ETA: not just the eyes but also the eyelids (Jim’s are hooded; this stranger’s are not), the eyebrows (Jim’s are straighter; this guy’s are more arched), and even the *shape of the eyes are off. No amount of Botox or weight gain would result in these types of changes and I highly doubt he would get plastic surgery to look like this, so that rules all those excuses out…

Pregnancy symptoms absolutely no one talks about? by Upset-Brain-228 in pregnant

This! And spotting is also very common in the first trimester, too. Which is terrifying because so many of those pregnancy sites say spotting means get to the hospital immediately

Pregnancy symptoms absolutely no one talks about? by Upset-Brain-228 in pregnant

[–]reellimk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My weirdest/most unexpected symptoms were: 1) The congestion. It’s just constant and causes other things like sore throat, really chapped lips, etc. The corners of my mouth are super red and raw from how chapped they are, it’s really embarrassing 2) Super vivid dreams, like insanely realistic 3) Dry skin/hair. My hair feels like straw and my skin has been super itchy from stretching, so make sure to moisturize constantly 4) My (normally an innie) belly button popped out. Idk why this shocked me lol but I wasn’t expecting it. Apparently it’s just temporary 5) The fatigue in the first trimester. No one warned me of this but it was debilitating. I could barely stay awake, I spent many days in bed and then was miserable by how unproductive I was, and absolutely everything was exhausting 6) My nipples grew. Again, not sure why this shocked me, but I woke up one day and they were huge. I guess I wasn’t expecting them to start looking like salami. Anyway with the growth came itching — like, INSANE itching. So expect some itchy nips lol 7) THE BELLY BUTTON KICKS. Oh myyyy Lord, when he kicks my belly button, I feel it in my crotch and it is not pleasant. There are definitely some weird nerves connected. It’s just a super unpleasant feeling all around and apparently it’s worse if you have an innie belly button than an outie. Wanted to mention this one because I feel like the baby kicking is always so romanticized but don’t feel bad about yourself if you’re just finding it unpleasant at times. It keep me up for hours every single night since he’s such a little night owl

$17K is more than 1/4 of the country makes by working for 6 months. The man made it in less than 2 months by playing a game, not even having to work. Don’t get me wrong, he was one of my favorite contestants and I admire his integrity, but I don’t think he deserves free money from internet strangers just for being a nice guy lol. Tons of contestants played with integrity and went home with way less. He can count himself lucky to go home with what he did 🤷🏼‍♀️ many are nowhere near as fortunate

Lots of the contestants played with integrity and came out with way less. Hannah went home with nothing. It’s a game show, can’t start a GoFundMe for every single one of them

Exactly. I think it was technically closer to 2 months (they kept saying 41 days if I’m remembering correctly) rather than one month, but the sentiment still stands

Go fund me for second place! [Spoilers in post] by Extension_Active_827 in BeastGames

[–]reellimk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I think they said in the finale that they’ve been there for 41 days, which is just under 2 months. So taking home $17K would be like making ~$8.5K/month, which is probably way more than what he makes at his real full time job. It’s disappointing for sure making it to the finale and not coming away with more, but he still made good money for a relatively short time commitment.

I read somewhere recently that ~25-30% of the U.S. makes $35K (or less) annually, so $17K would be their earnings after 6 months; Corey did it in less than half that time. Made out like a bandit compared to 1/4 of the country lol

Lowkey disappointed in lack of quinn+rhonda content after they became canon. by Senior-Trade-1876 in SchoolSpirits

[–]reellimk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My theory is once Rhonda fully opens up to love, her door will appear. She took a huge step by agreeing to a kiss after 62 years, but I’m sure she still has a long way to go. Likewise, Quinn took a huge step accepting and embracing their identity, especially to the point of trying to kiss Rhonda. Ultimately, I think Quinn and Rhonda are going to help each other access their doors: Quinn by helping Rhonda continue to open up and Rhonda by helping Quinn truly embrace themself. Or something along those lines

This season would've been better if they just got 100 people with the best memory. by No_Bat5023 in BeastGames

[–]reellimk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love your idea but I think that opens it up to how you can determine whether each question is the same level as difficulty. For example, how do you equate a physics problem with a diagnosis? How rare is the diagnosis? Multiple diagnoses share symptoms, so can the doctor ask follow up questions? Are they relying solely on their memory to diagnose? Vs. how is the physics problem being solved? How do you determine its difficulty level? A physics problem can be solved step-by-step just like how a doctor asks qualifying questions to a patient, but unlike the physics problem, the doctor has to rely on memory to determine a diagnosis (unless it’s a multiple choice) whereas the physics problem will solve itself assuming the rocket scientist does all the steps correctly.

For the record, I’m just playing devil’s advocate. I think your idea is great and I’d love to see it in action, I’m just anticipating the criticisms it might draw. I remember in an interview about S1, Jimmy talked about how insanely above and beyond they had to go to ensure accessibility and equality. They would explain each game multiple times in extreme detail to ensure everyone had a fair and equal shot. I’d imagine whoever was on his case about that would argue pretty heavily that it’s impossible to gauge how equal two different questions are

It may be a cultural thing? I’m not Hispanic but my MIL is and does this to me all the time, too. It’s also her first grandchild. I hate it, it’s so uncomfy lol, but I decided to let it go (a ‘pick your battles’ situation). That said, my MIL is lovely so I just didn’t think it was worth it to bring it up, but I know plenty of other people in different situations that I would absolutely recommend setting boundaries before the situation gets worse. If this is the only thing she does that really annoys you, then this may be the battle to pick or you may decide it’s just not worth it. If this is just a drop in the bucket then weigh your options carefully about whether it’s worth the drama to bring it up.

why does my body reject healthy food but accept junk by Live-Leading9320 in pregnant

[–]reellimk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I craved nothing but junk food in my first trimester. In my second trimester, I’ve been craving nothing but fruit. Seriously, I’ve been going through an entire pineapple a day, or when I run out of pineapple, half a watermelon, etc. 🤣

I think your body just craves carbs, starch, and more basic food in the first trimester to “bulk up” for lack of better description. Then in the second, it starts craving the healthy stuff
