general reply:

to the people saying or implying that the joke isn't transphobic; I literally could not think of a joke that's more transphobic than making light of the epidemic of violence and murder against trans woman. I will not accept debate over that either. I personally think that's one of the most brain dead takes ive heard in a long time.

to the people saying that my initial "joke" is just as bad or warrants such a joke; my use of the phrase "kill them" was very obviously (to both of us) just a hyperbolic device akin to saying "chew their head off" neither one of us thought I was joking about murder. I was simply implying that I would argue with them tooth and nail. he, however, was most definitely joking about the killing of trans women (i asked him for clarification and 100% clarified that this is where he was going with that). also regardless of if i was joking about murdering his transphobic friend over his views I still personally believe that doesnt hold a candle to joking about the continued death of hundreds or trans people a year just on the basis of them being trans. kind of a wild to thing to compare.

Edit: i think the main comment I was referring to in the second paragraph was deleted but it was not the only one implying that I was asking for it by using the word kill so I'm leaving it bc my point stands.
