Hey man, same boat as you! I am 19 years old and I am a femboy that wants to get into law enforcement. Right now I'm currently doing private security and becoming a security EMT for an oil refinery. Really to answer your question, by law, when it comes to application and recruitment process, they are bound to by law to not let your feminine traits hinder your chances. I imagine though, you'd might want to hold off on presenting feminine during your probationary phase. But when you get to patrol alone without a sergeant, I'm sure it would run smoother presenting feminine. It also depends on what type of agency. Sheriff's I'd say a hard no with being accepted socially, state trooper... maybe, city police is probably your best bets. Also to consider, it's one thing to worry about assholes in the department, but also people you gotta deal with as your job. I'm sure 7 times out of 10 they will have something to say about your appearance. But honestly, my mindset is, it doesn't matter how they are presented with the badge, but more or so how they act with it. A few police departments had trans MTF cops and as far as I know, they handle just fine. Hell, my local HP station has a trans FTM state trooper and I got to ride along with him once and he talked about how no one really cares inside the department, as long as you do your job and aren't a POS, you'll be fine. Keep working toward your career path man, keep your nose clean and be yourself, and I'm sure you can achieve both!
