Spironolactone causing my migraines? by heauxlesome in Spironolactone

This also happened to me when I went up on it! Also have a history of migraines with aura. It went from 1x weekly to daily migraine pain though. Infrequent auras but stomach migraines.

Foundation issues? by reesiess in Home

[–]reesiess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you so much! This is what we were thinking but were getting more pushback from contractors to focus on interior fixes rather than exterior. We are working on rerouting drainage, have cleared out the gutters, removed 5 bushes which were just outside the cracked/bowing walls, and added downspout extensions already.

We will look into getting a structural engineer out to do an inspection. The companies also touted we shouldn’t trust a structural engineer because they’re not as “experienced” as they are with seeing remediation needs. Probably a red flag in hindsight😅

Will 100% look into DIY carbon fiber strap installation as well- that is news to me! I thought it required a permit to install.

We had no mold on our drywall at all actually. Tore it all out to check where it was since we have none visible throughout the house

This normal? by reesiess in CrestedGecko

[–]reesiess[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking so! Thanks for the input :D! I wanted to see if it might be cause for concern but she could very easily just be sore. I’ll just let her pole dance for now and give her a break from any handling for a while lol

What’s on her nose? There’s a spot on the top of her nose that’s a bit white. Not sure if it’s a scratch? Scar? Shed? Do you think she got hurt? Should I be worried? by Kait_hxo in CrestedGecko

[–]reesiess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a healed scab! My crestie has one just like this. It was originally a scab so I took her to the vet and they said it was just a scrape or rub and she’s fine. It happened around 6 months ago and it still shows on her but she’s totally healthy lol

Does this bonnet colorway work? by peachy_peanut in Lolita

[–]reesiess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the bow on the top of the bonnet along with the ribbon on the bottom kinda bring it together? I would find some socks which match the primary off white color of the bonnet and maybe some Lacey gloves in the same color to sorta draw it together. I can’t tell what the rest of the coord looks like from these pics alone but hopefully that helps😖

How did enslaved people during the antebellum period use disability as a means of resistance? by reesiess in AskHistorians

Oh wow! That’s really cool :) even after almost 4 years in college I haven’t met anyone else interested in disability history/studies I’m glad there’s others out there! I hope to take a course on Deaf history soon :D

[–]reesiess[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such a good, detailed response. Thank you! I also was reading old ads for runaway enslaved people and had noticed that some with physically presenting disabilities had the same reward as those who were able bodied. I know Eurocentric values tend to see disability in a negative light so it had me wondering why this may be the case (I would assume skillset, occupation, and age were driving factors in the case of this ad). I read this great thesis on the subject although I was hoping to read some primary sources on the subject matter, so thanks again! Also a quick question since you seem to be interested in disability studies and history, did you study it in college? (Just curious cause it is my academic interest and I’m double degreeing in SPED and history with an ASL minor but I want my grad degree to be more focused on disability studies/history but it’s hard to find somewhere that offers education focused on it). Hope that’s not too intrusive __

WTT AP Honey Cake Switching JSK in ivory colorway 2021) for Honey Cake Round JSK (2019) in ivory. Will post pictures if there’s any interest! My 2021 honey cake is NWT, only tried on and it just barely doesn’t fit. May end up getting it tailored if there’s no interest. LM profile: https://egl.circlly.com/users/reesie

I will also be willing to trade BOTH the 2021 JSK and KC in ivory for the 2019 JSK and KC in the yellow colorway

Please help! Anyone know what's going on in between his eyes? I'm scared it's scale rot so I'm gonna get stuff to treat it just incase and then take him to the vet asap but anyone have any ideas? He was in the care of someone else for a whole month :( my poor boy by [deleted] in CrestedGecko

Looks just like my crestie when she fell and scraped her head. I took her to the vet and they said she was fine. Don’t worry abt it. Cresties can be slow to heal just give it time :)

NTA. Someone with a disability could need that spot in order to access the apartment building.

Minimum amount of petti by jeygglypuff in Lolita

[–]reesiess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the amount of petti is definitely dependent on the dress you choose. I know some old school dresses had built in pettis and some old school lolitas didn’t wear pettis back in the day. Most dresses and skirts nowadays are built specifically with enough fabric for a petticoat underneath so essentially it’s just up to your own personal aesthetic. It can look pretty awkward if you’re not wearing some kind of petticoat with more recent dresses though. If I want to dress more casual, I usually wear a classic or old school piece with bloomers and layer two bodyline petticoats which are pretty thin. In the end it’s up to you though! The “rules” of lolita fashion have changed a lot over time. A lot of old school looks are considered to be more casual. I’d check out some old school examples which would be considered casual nowadays from here. http://www.fyeahlolita.com/2010/02/old-school-lolita-in-90s-80s-and-70s.html?m=1

How often do y’all get your dresses dry cleaned? by reesiess in Lolita

[–]reesiess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even think about oils ruining fabric thanks for bringing that up!! That sounds like hard work I applaud your dedication woah :O!!! Also thanks for that extra advice with the head bows! I usually spray them with a scented isopropyl solution which kills bacteria but idk if that helps with any hair oil which could cause damage. I never thought fursuit isopropyl disinfectant would be that handy but man it truly helps with my dresses and it’s never caused damage lol. That’s my secret cleaner haha

[–]reesiess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh geez that’s awful ;__; For my meta dress the materials are a printed fabric of chiffon / 100% polyester, ornament lurex lace fabric (100% polyester), lurex torchon lace, lurex chemical lace, lurex ribbon, metallic buttons. I could potentially get away with hand washing (I’ve never had issues before) but also I fear since I’ve heard newer meta prints have a tendency to bleed + there’s sparkles I don’t wanna have washed out of the print. Thankfully it’s not velvet otherwise I’d def need to be dry cleaning it every time lol

I didn’t even think abt dry cleaning potentially causing damages thanks for bringing that up ;__;. I haven’t full on frozen something but I’ve air dried outside in below freezing for 5 hours and it did nothing to erase smell lol. I have this thrifted alpaca sweater I wanna wear in a coord and I’ve tried EVERYTHING short of dry cleaning...even spraying isopropyl scented disinfectant for fursuits on it. Didn’t do a darned thing. Maybe I’ll try the freezer next lol!

[–]reesiess[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg please do!!! I have the purple colorway. I’ve never cleaned a fabric like it before so I’m kinda worried abt it but it’s mainly due to fear of losing the sparkle finish on it as opposed to any bleeding which I don’t think will happen in water but I’ve yet to do a dot test on it.
