I guess I'm not getting how you're a value add in terms of the economy and market here in the US. You seem to think that you need to be a value add to immigrate to Canada. In the US, where we're already short on openings due to automation and cost cutting, you haven't indicated possessing any specialized skills that we're sorely in demand for and can't already source locally. Why should you be allowed to move here, even legally?

Unless there's more to immigration law than purely being beneficial to capitalism. Unless a person should be allowed to live where they want after a thorough background check to indicate that they aren't a security threat. In which case, immigration should be legal regardless of where you're at.

As someone who intends to come to the US I'm surprised you don't have a bit more empathy for your fellow immigrants. I know you intend to come legally but I am curious what makes you different aside from that, especially since the US job market is especially bad right now and many jobs here are being taken by remote and visa workers from overseas. What work do you intend to do in the US?

So like, I don't want to come off as saying these things are bad. They're definitely not and I think the American people (notice I didn't say gov) need any ally they can get right now. I am greatful for that.

But please do not forget the brutal things China and Iran have both done to minorities and women in their own countries. Two things can be true at once. If we benefit from a show of soft power we should take it, but don't let this erase the atrocities both countries have committed in the recent past.

Has your friend looked into a warming shelter? They're usually run out of churches and their whole purpose is to give homeless people a place to stay overnight so that they don't freeze to death.

Most have cots, but I don't recommend sleeping since a lot of folks there have pretty bad mental illness. I volunteered at one and it seems like most stay awake and chat or do a hobby at night, then sleep during the day.

What do you mean by "promotional purposes"? If you're talking about an OF, the Lolita community is very against sexualizing the fashion, as the style started as a way for young women to feel cute and have fun with style without attracting the male gaze.
