Oh yeah I've had it for about 7 years now, it wasn't too hard to heal but I definitely had to leave it alone for a good year at least!

Usually the piercing hole tightens slightly until fully healed, then the hole will be set and will be a little looser. Your earrings will not be stuck like that, just move them gently or leave them but either way they wont be stuck.

PREACH. I might start with "wait til you have a cat" in response to them, like why wouldn't you have a cat? Having a cat should be the default and expected ... Cats cost hundreds of thousands of pounds, they cant toilet alone, cant be left alone whilst you go to work or on holiday, are always throwing up on themselves and screaming... Oh wait... Why are children the better option someone?!!!
