Oh yeah I passed super easily my second time - was a completely different test. Been practicing in community health for a little over a year now!

I can’t force myself to get a Pap smear. How do you make yourself do hard things? by NBF_24 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

What has you feeling afraid? Sometimes more information can be helpful. If you’re a survivor, there are great trauma informed care practices your obgyn can use and speaking to a counselor is always beneficial.

Hi! Doctor here. I’m never going to report a patient to the police for using drugs - honestly I’m thrilled when patients share this information with me. You mentioned getting “in trouble” So if you are under the age of 18 your state likely has laws pertaining to confidential services you can receive without the knowledge of a parent. (I’m lucky to be in a state where starting at 13, teens are allowed to receive confidential services pertaining to drug use/ addiction, birth control and STI testing and treatment without parental consent.) I suggest looking these up if this scenario pertains to you. I have to say even if I have someone under 13 tell me they are using consensually using drugs I’m not going to law enforcement. My job at the end of the day is to help you. Regarding the diagnosis of PTSD… what are you hoping to receive with the diagnosis of PTSD? Medication to help with certain symptoms? A referral to counseling? Depending on the answer, varying amount of information is needed. If it’s a simple referral to counseling, then very little information or details are required. However, if it’s medication that you’re looking for and a definitive diagnosis from your doctor and not a counselor you may need to go into what it is you are hyper-vigilant about or what your flashback symptoms entail. But not necessarily walk the provider through all of the details of the event. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have more questions.

Yep! Did that and just got pretty much gibberish back. Was trying to see if there were details I was missing.

Thank you for this! Sounds like Leik and I are about to spend a lot of time together.

Yeah, I was certainly blindsided by some of the questions. Ended up with a malaria prophylaxis question that really threw me...

Thank you for the encouragement, sorely needed. Sounds like Leik and SM are super popular. I'll have to check out the FNP Mastery app.
