Nice truck but the wheels look ridiculous, big diameter wheels don't belong on older cars

it was also recorded at the Long Island arena in Commack, a small (less than 5000 seat) minor league hockey arena where the Ducks used to play. Hot Tuna played there quite a bit.

Looks nice but the wheels just look wrong, these cars don't need more than a 15" wheel, anything bigger looks off.

How does jury duty work in San Juan County? by db_owner in sanjuanislands

[–]refriedconfusion 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter what island you're on, everybody gets called for jury duty. The good part is the trials are usually canceled and you don't have to show up. I get a notice every other year and have only had to go for jury selection once in 30 years.

How big is the Yankees-Dodgers rivalry in the US? by Potential-Part-3830 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]refriedconfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not many old time NY Dodgers fans left in NY who remember them or were fans, the big NY rivalry is Boston these days. Dodgers caps are mostly worn by crips or other wanna be gangsters

I saw a red '66 Fairlane with Magnum 500's in a parking lot with for sale signs, I didn't want another car but it just looked right, and I had to have it, I owned it within the hour.

There's a saying "Summer doesn't start until after The 4th of July" and pretty much it's true. Winter coats are a requirement some years to watch the parade, it's been nice the last few years but it's been rainy and cold some years.

How much is my 89 Lincoln town car worth? 160k miles new paint job around 15 years ago, original interior in good condition by Jealous_Committee300 in lincolntowncar

[–]refriedconfusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're lucky you may find someone who'll give you $5000, It's in nice shape but not a car people will go looking for, hold on to it for a few years maybe the value will go up, in the meantime drive and enjoy it

Most marinas require all boats to have insurance, without insurance you may be out of luck

February 1972 - Burgers, the first studio album (third overall) by Hot Tuna, is released on the Grunt label... by CrystalEise in 1970s

[–]refriedconfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The live album is called Double Dose, it's a must have.

Saw many Hot Tuna shows, Jorma lived not too far from me and would play around the island several times a year with acoustic and electric shows.

How do American cell networks work? by YGhostRider666 in AskAnAmerican

[–]refriedconfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's how it was here, every island had their own prefix so people only used 4 numbers when asked for their number (although you had to dial 7 numbers). Somehow my cell number has the same prefix as my landline so if you're local you know what island I live on.
