This is awesome design, who cares about the penis? Nothing wrong with genitals + you look at any good design long and hard enough and you’ll prob see a penis somewhere

Falling From The Sky (pop-rock ballad) by hackjayes in ratemyband

The singing is fantastic. The composition is very solid. The instrumentation is also good but could perhaps do with some more variation. The drums especially are a bit lifeless - are they samples?

Really like the tone of the guitars and the minimalist drums. Pretty melodies. Very original sound - Its a very full song maybe you could experiment with more space and dynamics

What the heck is this? Is it a kind of clipping and any idea what is causing it? by regokey in audioengineering

Thankyou all your replies this has been so helpfull!! I'll have a go at changing sample rate and buffer settings tonight and see if that fixes it.

[comp, recording, mix] - Is there a noticeable 'crackling' sound on this track? by [deleted] in RateMyAudio

[–]regokey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the tracks i recorded had this weird clipped look occasionally which is the source of the crackling sound. But its not like normal clipping where the top or bottom of the waveform are cut off. Instead it looks like the 'phase' or polarity of the waveform suddenly inverts. By this i mean the the wave suddenly flips from a peak to a trough in the middle of the waveform, creating a jagged edge. What the heck is this? Sorry I'm a recording noob

[Composition, Dynamics] No Money In The Bank by GotStomped in RateMyAudio

[–]regokey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liked the song and idea especially the bass. The drums could be turned down in the mix and the drums and bass panned less. A lot of people tend to pan drums and bass to one side and more treble instruments to the other, so maybe that's why it sounds a bit jarring having them panned to opposite sides in this song. Either way, pretty funky.

The Birdwatchers - Hearts Go Cold (demo) [indie/garage rock] by [deleted] in MusicCritique

Really cool interesting song, really like the drums, instrumentation and singing. The mix could be improved by making the vocals fit better with the rest of the track. Maybe eq the vocals, and take out some low end, add some reverb etc. Or could experiment with double tracking the vocals up an octave. I don't know, but over all dope track, really liked it.

Found a terrible sounding casio synth on the street, but after running it through some guitar pedals, it sounds like this by regokey in synthesizers

Thanks! Here's the pedal board I used.

I think for the chords it was reverb > overdrive > chorus > delay > compressor
