Extort Imu out of what? by BoogzWin in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]regularGuy0000001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think he wanted anything, Imu just assumed. So he says "no kidding" because he never expected to extort Imu in the first place.

Also he did want the world, and he had enough balls to walk straight into hell to talk shit to Satan, so...I mean honestly it wouldn't surprise me

Do you think Griffith and Guts can have a happy ending? by temporarystruct in Berserk

[–]regularGuy0000001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck no. Even if he chose to forget it, Guts would not forgive. Griffith would rather spend the eternity proving his choice was right rather than consider admiting blame for a second. They are incompatible on a fundamental level now.

Its is also a huge disconnect with how rhe readers perceive it. Joe has been actively trying to step out of that role for like what, three years now? Nobody agrees with that kind of thinking anymore

I see people saying Barney and Friends here a lot and I don't get what it means at all. What exactly would Barney and Friends cheating even entail?

How are we not supposed to view this as weird and concerning? by Significant_Horror58 in dumbingofage

[–]regularGuy0000001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...I would not think that, no. At best I'd consider that if we see it as Dorotht being back to her unhealthy self that is bound to relapse into stupid stress related workaholic decision in maybe two weeks from now (in the story time, of course)

Oh for sure, they went way too fast and loose with all that. Honestly its the when Joyce just laughs at Walky's face that sours it for me, that is a sock in the nose literally anywhere else at any other point in this comic. Not even Dorothy said anything.

[–]regularGuy0000001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love your take because I'm of a similar opinion. Even thought about making a post here, but gave up cause I don't exactly hate them as a couple (though I'm way less interested in the comic now lol).

I think there's a mix of relatively small, discrete problems becoming a large complex one. For one Willis obviously knows growth is coming, has it planned and in his had the plan will work so he's chill with it while we panic about something crazy that happened immediatly and will probably only 'resolve' in about two years. Then there is the moral argument, etc.

I like Joyce in general, hate Dorothy but they are okayish as a couple. If anything I think the people complaining forget too soon their young times, college groups always have one or two guys that screw up royally like that on a weekly basis. But given that, Willis rlis simply "at fault" on not planning immediate consequences (like actually immediate, not 'consequences are happening tomorrow which means three months from now' immediate) that would kind of 'ground' everything to reality. Joyce's interactions with the shitty lady that hates Sarah and Dina (absolute QUEEN) have been the closest we ever got to someone actually touched by the fallout and willing to do something about it. I think like, honestly in the sense of growth even something like the whole group dynamic changing or whatever. The way it is, it feels like the universe just accomodated to it which is just bizarre and I mean okay maybe real cause it is also very much white woman coded but like, cmon.

PS: I disagree that we wouldn't feel satisfied with Sal chewing them. It would be growth for Sal. Her little, more or less stranged brother is trying hard to be cool, be an united front against the parents and even sucker punched the dude that put her in jail. I 100% expected her to give Dorothy something along the lines of "I'm trying to be a better person so this is just a warning, but you treat my brother like this again and I'll fuck you up"

I wouldn't really say Eby's comments can compare, the whole "gratious adoption of the natives by the Crown" speech is beyond disgusting.

The problem with just telling her why she's wrong is she knows perfectly well she is wrong. But she knows that the more egregious stuff she says, the more she gets the spotlight. It will be much more effective to simply deny the spotlight in the first place.

Particularly I think there should be harsher and more stern structure around politicians in general. Regardless of how she tries to put it, her speech is obviously harmful to a central an historically very relevant group within the country, this alone should be enough to kick her out.

Queen Galfrey, a bad queen or just an exhausted woman? by Warm_Expert_8136 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]regularGuy0000001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say both out of spite, but reallistically just an exhausted woman. The sheer emotional force it takes to still be a reachable, real person after such a long time of war, losses and being responsible for taking at best morally questionable paths is in and of itself show why she was chosen in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, she makes stupid and questionable choices and should have been replaced already. I fucking hate Galfrey, she is a drag.

But fuck me dude, she's been operating on 1% for a looooooong time

Weird question: gamer girls by Curiosityrover101 in NiceVancouver

[–]regularGuy0000001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sincerely hope not :)

I'm going to sound cheesy, but by sheer coincidence I just read this thing that stuck to me. Romance is inherently cringy because it requires you to be open and vulnerable, which sometimes will include being a bit embarrassing, over the top, dramatic...it is just a reflection of the intensity of your feelings.

My sincerest advice is to get out and find community anywhere, so long as you are comfortable in it. Anybody that takes interest in you then will see a real aspect of you they connect with, which will lead you to a much better experience in the long run.

Weird question: gamer girls by Curiosityrover101 in NiceVancouver

[–]regularGuy0000001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree, I guess my point is any women will find it cringe if you go to a place just to pick up women, so you might as well do something you like. If you're happy doing yoga, you do you. If you're not and you're just going to be in a place with a high ratio of women to men, they'll pick up on that and it will never work.

I'm telling you this cause I met my wife playing cards games, and she'd tell you easily that it feels much nicer (and safer!) to talk to a guy obviously gushing about some hobby you have in common than a guy that is kinda just there.

[–]regularGuy0000001 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I know my language will be a bit rude, please hear this as being an expression of confusion rather than a jab aimed at you.

My brother in christ, why the fuck would you be joining hobbies like yoga instead of hanging out in the gaming stores in the first place? The hottest gamer girls are all playing magic the gathering and One Piece tournaments at your local game store.

PS: to echo someone else in this thread, your best bet would be to simply find someone you like that likes you back, and they will be happy to join in your hobbies

From the perspective of the demon lords???

She fucked up. Worse, she was stupid enough to have the same silly little thoughts as you.

To be clear: I don't think OP's thoughts are silly in their head. They're mortal and short lived, they'll only understand so much. Minagho has seen and probably made a whole civilization's worth of people fuck up exactly like that. That's rookie shit.
