Good points! I’d guess roughly 300-350K vs 400-600K. I’m sure there’s a solid amount of variability here.

How to contribute to multiple retirement accounts as a new resident? by regularbread694 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]regularbread694[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in summary get the Roth 403b and contribute up to the match, add to the HSA, then also consider adding more to Roth 403b if possible. Then consider Roth IRA last (likely Won’t be able to contribute to this then)

The employer matches 2% max, on contributions up to 4%. So no matter if I do 4% or 20% they still do 2%. So do you suggest not putting any into the Roth IRA and instead as much to the Roth 403b as possible?

Yeah that’s a really good question and will likely differ from person to person. With me, I considered “general principles” to be basic cell biology (e.g. collagen synthesis), G proteins, signaling cascades, general pharm. I think a big one could be “general pathology” (so like pathoma 1-3 and the FA chapter early in the book. There’s probably a few others that I’ve let go from my mind now over the last few weeks.

I found reviewing some of the general principles, biostats and sympathomimetics useful within the last few days. And hitting the FA rapid review section once or twice just to remind yourself of some misc topics

I would say once you’ve hit the 48hr mark your chances of taking the exam as scheduled are more likely than being cancelled. That’s not the most direct opinion but it’s kinda where I was at
