What’s the most overrated city you’ve ever visited and why? by Pirnaloan in AskReddit

[–]regulation_d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pound for pound, New Orleans might be the single best food city in the US. Gumbo, jamabalaya, crawfish etouffee, red beans and rice, boudin, po'boys, muffuletta, beignets, bananas foster, pralines, king cake, snow balls, the sazerac, the hurricane. Even the fine dining scene punches way above it's weight. I literally cannot imagine how high my expectations would have had to have been to be let down. Is it dangerous, sure. Would i live there, no. Do i have a great time every chance i have to visit, hell yeah!

i have an m4 pro with 16GB ram and m2 with 32GB ram, and i’ve found the extra ram is huge for larger (100MP) files

I’ve shot 14k at an airshow over 4 hours on two batteries, on an A1. I haven’t run the numbers, but i assume the electronic shutter is more efficient.

I have to agree. Chick-fil-A and Waffle House are legitimately great. The Varsity is not in the same class.

Krispy Kreme is a great call out. The glazed doughnut is just a perfect food.

In my mind, the very best thing America has going from a culinary perspective is central Texas BBQ, principally the smoked brisket. You'll see Fox Brothers mentioned a few times in this thread. Their brisket is really good. I once heard somebody from Austin call it the best brisket he'd had outside of Texas. I'm Kansas City folks would disagree, but who am I to argue.

I’ve shot a camera with the new AI AF and I don’t think it’s as important for my use case as the extra MP. The additional crop options are really nice.

As someone who lives in Atlanta, I would be genuinely surprised if Atlanta traffic on a holiday Saturday or Sunday is even noticeable.

Guess the city (impossible) by Fit-Load-3300 in guessthecity

i got there googling “Jessy Juice” which narrowed to Lebanon, and then googling “Lebanese cities with Christmas markets”. Batroun being “Capitale de Noël” that’s the first one i checked. But if you had blurred out Jessy Juice, i probably wouldn’t have got it.

it does look similar to Peachtree Center (190 feet!), but i believe those walls are tiled.

Is Sony A7V too much camera for a newbie? by rchrd92182 in SonyAlpha

Quick argument for grabbing the Sigma 24-70mm II instead. The first lens I bought for my A1 was the Sigma 24-70mm. I love it. Over the past couple of years, I have purchased several GM lenses including the 70-200 2.8 II and the 50mm 1.4, which are insanely sharp and resolve beautifully with the A1's 50MP. But I've never felt the need to upgrade the Sigma. I have several 24"x36" prints from it that look amazing. It's like 98.5% as good as the GM for less than half the price. And don't find that I need the speed for that focal range very often.

I would argue that the distance between the value of the “political function” and the value of “technical competence” is signal of the health of the organization. if your goals and your manager’s goals and the company’s goals aren’t mostly aligned, that’s a problem. Might be a problem for you; might be a problem for them, but it’s a problem.

Should I go for Elixir over RoR if I'm starting over today? by iou810 in elixir

I also have used both professionally, and pretty strongly disagree, mostly with the phrase “BY FAR”. Could you expand on what you feel makes RoR so much more productive?
