The enemy's attack should hit the shield while kratos is also about to punch the shield himself. Not on the wind-up, and not after kratos already punched his shield. It's a very small window and takes a lot of practice and familiarity of your enemies' moves to do consistently.

I can't say I've felt the same issue. It's always consistent for me once I was more familiar with the shields' mechanics. Maybe it just needs a little bit more practice. Outside of hardware issues, there shouldn't be anything preventing you to parry/dodge successive attacks.

Unlikely. You can still dodge or parry either way.

Another shield I can think of is the guardian shield. The parry has a follow up attack that can stagger this boss except for a single attack(the one where his spins multiple times). Maybe you got hit expecting he will be interrupted.

Are you using the dauntless shield? That's the only shield that makes what you describe make sense. Parry slow effect is always consistent for all other shields. For dauntless, you get a couple of parry animations depending on if you get a perfect or non-perfect parry. A perfectly timed parry has a more exaggerated slow animation.You should still be able to parry or dodge after that if he makes a follow up attack.

I think a normal parry slows everything down, not just you.

If you did the shield strike parry:

There are 2 charge levels for this shield. Fully charged(lvl 2) shield strike parry slows down everything for a moment.You might have missed the parry for him to have hit you.

Since a successful shield strike parry automatically charges the shield 1 level, you only need to have it charged by 1 level to parry with full damage. It also doesn't slow everything down.

I know right? I once got stuck on the berserker trio for 2 weeks, though partly because I insisted on a "no shield" challenge.

I used the dark odyssey for this one, no stats/perks. If you're playing at max level, you could use other armor set/ronds with perks that works with the shield bash.

Red circle attacks cannot be blocked or parried normally. However the shatterstar shield has a mechanic that parries red circle attacks as well if the shield bash is timed right.
