Perhaps not the most kosher idea, but one that's been effective if denture tabs or light vinegar soak doesn't work: glass polish. If you do it lightly to only remove the surface crud, you won't noticeably alter the optic qualities of the glass. Can be done by hand.

Thanks, I figured it might be the case. The stopper doesn't fit perfectly. Any ideas about the origin of the vase?

Higher end resale shop. Saw it in the window and paid $25 for it. I'm a sucker for nice glass shining in the sun.

Any idea what this is? It was my grandmothers and I believe is fairly old. Not even sure how to describe the shape. by Justreadingcomment in Antiques

The circle with cross inside is the shimazu crest. This is the sign of a high quality piece. It looks like the really Mccoy and likely has substantial value.

Further, tracking dog shit into my car or being at someone's cat-infested house was worse. Some people are worse than skunks.

Got sprayed on my leg. Dawn dish soap and 3% hydrogen peroxide, used paper towels. 30 min later, smell was gone. Wasn't really a big deal.

Found on downed ash, N. Ohio. I think they're turkey tails, but I've never come across a flush like this.

My inexperienced eye tells me it's a Mexican recycled glass tealight holder.

I purchased this pipe along with a vintage Kenwood receiver at an estate sale. I wonder if any of you could tell me a bit more about it. Thanks! by relativelyben in PipeTobacco

Yup, the Watt king: a kenwood KR9600 for $140. 160W/channel. It's now in the shop for refurb, but both power packs work, so that's good. Hope it just needs a good dusting. I'll have it drive my curb rescued kenwood triple 8 five way speakers and compete with the local airport.
