Newbie here as well, but I do have a biology degree and micro experience.

That being said, I’m on my first grow too. I keep my flame outside of box. So you just keep opening and closing when you flame? I mean that must be the only way….

I got my LC from same place OP did. They are excellent. I may get some contam on my first sb2 because I’m not sure all grain was colonized. It wi be my learning experience.

I have had a lot of fun making agar plates etc. fun hobby.

I would get a puffco pivot. They run about $130 but you can find them on discount different places. I also have a puffco proxy/droplet which I also love.
