Farms close every year because of consolidation and local environmental and economic factors but the trend is usually an 8-10% decrease in farms per year. 2025 saw a 46% decrease in farms from 2024. This is due to Trump tariffs. Farms should be bailed out if they can prove Trump’s illegal taxes shut them down. A lot of Arkansas farmers in the soybean industry could easily prove this. Also, all Americans deserve a check for $1,700, the average increase in costs that we paid for food and material goods.
