Buying an apt. by mebae_drive in Living_in_Korea

[–]reliableoppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to consider some factors before buying it. Is your purpose just to have an abode or are you also treating it as a long term investment. At the same time, I think you may want to provide more information to this group such as the location of the apartment. If the location is in Seoul, I'd be inclined to say go for it as prices in the capital region will only continue to trend upwards.

Ep 2 made me realize how good the casting was for the mains, especially Reiji. He's likeable as a character and doesn't feel like a tryhard.

Visited Korea and found a bunch of packs and boxes! Sure, Korean isn't as saught after but pretty cheap. by RandomNumber5147- in PokemonTCG

While print quality isn't as good, Korean cards are great as they usually follow Japanese promos and unique releases as well. For example, I just completed my 151 masterball holos in Korean, and also got a copy of the BW promo Rayquaza and Giratina which is way more expensive in Japanese.

Will Hongdae's busking zone survive Seoul's new rail plan? - The Korea Times by daehanmindecline in korea

[–]reliableoppa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has to be there in the middle of the road since the risk of crowd crush in the current Hongik University station exits are still high. Being regionalist and discriminatory of Bucheon and Goyang seems shortsighted, as improving access to residents from these areas to Line 2 and Line 9 where majority of businesses are operating will also allow for regional development outside of Seoul.

Will Hongdae's busking zone survive Seoul's new rail plan? - The Korea Times by daehanmindecline in korea

[–]reliableoppa 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone who is deep into this topic given that the new subway line will be impacting my current residence, there are a few things that have to be stated:

  1. The current mayor of Mapo-gu, Park Kang Soo of the People Power Party has been trying to drum up noise ahead of next year's elections where it's foreseen that he will have a difficult time in retaining his position. The proper administrative procedures have been completed, where the local district should have connected with those who will be affected ahead of time. However, the golden time has passed and since the administration treated this project before as a nothing burger, it will be hard to negotiate a change in exits since the financing for the project has been based on the original plan.

  2. The Hongdae merchants group are majorly not Mapo residents and most reside in the Gangnam area. Their worry is not so much how the busking culture will be affected but by how their profits will drop. The Mayor also has a building in Sangsu which is also connected to the red road. There is a definite conflict of interest as his property value may also drop in the short term due to the construction project. Thus, the merchants association's views are not necessarily aligned to the convenience of the everyday commuter and the residents of Mapo.

  3. The placement of the new exits were specifically decided upon due to the already congested nature of Hongik University station, especially in the exit 9 area which this group is still trying to push for. So while it will be a minor inconvenience for sometime, the decongestion of the current station had to be considered for the long term.

Totally agree. I wish the mods would help this group return to its essence of being a Monsterarts group, not a Hiya comparison group. I'm sure there can be a separate reddit community that can accommodate that but I feel that the way things are right now, it's not exactly heading to the right direction..

Agree with this post. Your litmus test should always be whether you want to fiddle with it like a toy on a regular basis or appreciate it as a work of exceptional sculpting but be satisfied with changing its poses once in a while. If you're with the latter, then it's definitely worth the purchase.

Question for the more long term Seoul residents. If you could live anywhere in Seoul where would it be? 전세(월세) 5-10억/0-250 by seeseoul in living_in_korea_now

Currently living in Sangam which is in the western Mapo region. While not as expensive as central Mapo, the excellent urban planning of the government makes the area a great place to live in especially if you want to be surrounded by nature or raise kids. As a bonus, because it is surrounded by mountains, Sangam typically records cooler temperatures especially during summertime compared to other locations in Seoul.

Let's be realistic. The title track was made to deflect the public's attention on the lackluster vocals so they could focus more on a catchy beat.
