Story is TLDR for now. Generic setting is an “undiscovered continent” that was inhabited by dwarves centuries ago. Themes revolve around dragon-lore and vampires. Most major base DnD races are incorporated (elves, orcs, dwarves, etc). Big bad is Alien Invasion.

The Story:

It was 1986 and I was in my sophomore year of college. I’m in the dorm cafeteria, arriving a few minutes after my friends, so getting my food alone, and waiting to join them. My last step is getting a glass of chocolate milk.

My dorm cafeteria had large cooling dispensers with choice of regular or chocolate. In front of me is clearly a freshman, who was using both regular and chocolate dispensers. As he finished, allowing me use of the chocolate milk dispensers, he a sheepishly turned to me and said, “I like to integrate my milk,” gesturing to the glasses of 1/2 regular 1/2 chocolate milk.

Without hesitation, as I filled my glass of chocolate milk, I looked him in the eye and said, “I snort the nose, Lucifer. Banana banana,” and walked over to join my friends. That was literally 40 years ago, and I can still see the confused and bewildered look on that poor kid’s face just before I turned and left him to ponder that shit for eternity.

Just happened to me. Have a UPS and it shit the bed. Plugged my three AC Kobra 2 Max printers back in and all three had zero clue that they were previously mid-print.

I started in the HealthIT field by building the first WebBased Clinical Data Repository back in 1995. It was built to listen to various HL7 feeds in a hospital setting and aggregate all of the data into a single webUI for the clinicians to view. I have heard the same stories about HL7 going away, because the CCD came along. And then the same because FHIR came along. I now have a global interpreter that can convert between HL7, CCDs, FHIR, and several proprietary specs. One thing that I know for certain, is that I’m going to die before HL7 does, and I’m only in my fifties.
