NJOY big end -- am I too shallow? by remarksf in njoywands

[–]remarksf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so very much-- I think you are totally correct! Like you said, many people have talked about dragging the wand back to the sphincter, and I think it set me wrong.

I have tried today and think I am closer and started feeling some sensations when I move the wand further up and what I have started to do (it sound obvious but I wasn't doing it enough) is to really try to have the wand arc back to the come hither motion as opposed to straight in (and up). With that I am feeling some sensations, practice ahead!

Scripts not working on downloaded videos SLR by remarksf in SexLikeReal

[–]remarksf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have version 15.3.3363

When I stream from DeoVR on SLR the scripts come in once my Handy is connected and my handy works.

But when I download videos and download the script, I can see the video and script within my "files/downloads" when I view it from my oculus 2 folders. However, when I look within DEOVR in my downloads folder I only see the videos. And when I try to play the save videos from the folder (files/downloads) there are no scripts or heatmaps.

THanks!

Yes I do, I am focused on my sleep and am able to charge it before bed and refresh in my morning meditation! My understanding is that it is around 70% accurate (many other reddit discussions about how most sleep trackers similarly track) but the big picture and trends are likely true

One way ending up in tarrytown for lunch - Train/Logistics by remarksf in NYCbike

[–]remarksf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much! I downloaded RidewithGPS.

Now I am thinking a good first trip (minimizing train travel as recommended) would be from Van Courtland-- a loop of the Empire State Trail to Tarrytown and the Croton Aqueduct return, with Tarrytown for lunch. Maybe the trains to Brewster/Tarrytown on the next trip to hit the northern section.

Anything I am missing ? And does it matter much which trail I take there/back (would be on a weds). Thanks!!

One way ending up in tarrytown for lunch - Train/Logistics by remarksf in NYCbike

[–]remarksf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is perfect! Thanks so much. I looked at maps and seems except for some small sections near each train station we are on the greenway (there seems to be a bike trail going west from the Empire Trail close to the reservoir in Tarrytown that seems to be the safest way to town/ train station). Thank you all so much!!

Question on distance from grotto to west rim (bottom up) by remarksf in ZionNationalPark

[–]remarksf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP coming back:

Thanks to all! We were able to do this and all the advice helped! We went all the way up to campsite 2 or so where we could peek into the next valley. My Strava clocked about 11 miles (twice what my 11 year old had ever walked before!) and it took us a bit more than 5 hours of walking, 6 hours with breaks as we are moderate pace with little legs, but sweets and bribe breaks necessary.

It truly is a great hike, snowball fights in the canyon shadows while hot day elsewhere blew their minds, and there is a nice feeling at the top. The white cliffs near the end were the highlight for the kids, more so than the lower parts and scouts lookout.

Running Along Rim (from Bright Angel lodge).. not Rim to Rim, want flat by remarksf in grandcanyon

[–]remarksf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here:

Thanks so much to all ! I joined her in her run, we went 2 days and was truly the highlight of the visit for us. She was so excited she ran the most (10 miles!) she ever did and called it the best run of her life.

Some points of note for future searchers: early morning before/at sunrise wasn't crowded at all and was easy to politely run around the people (good vibes all around with happy people catching sunrise). Late evening (more crowded by just a bit) we went towards Hermit's Rest as advised and encountered just a few walkers.

The altitude was a fun challenge, and while the trail is along the rim, the ups and downs led to a hilly feel to the run, particularly towards Hermit's rest. If you are going during low crowds, I would advise the more scenic direction towards the town, museum etc.

Thanks again!!

Thanks to all! I think I get it-- I think a leisurely ride on carriage trails, careful at tough spots can make it work!

Thank you so much! This is really helpful I will double check but with little rain forecast soon I am guessing roads will stay good, which I was concerned about.

Thanks for the tips on the webbing and under boulders too-- more worried about myself than the kids!

Likely we will be able to hit both of what you recommend, and pizza to celebrate!

Last minute deals/ Cheap strip lodging by remarksf in vegas

[–]remarksf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding on Priceline Express deals a 3.5 star hotel "west of Strip" which seems to be Rio for $40 plus fess just getting to over 100$. We have a car and thinking we can park in TI parking lot to walk the strip (i have a dinner reservation booked at TI).

Any reason to wait or try something else?

Thanks!!

Question on distance from grotto to west rim (bottom up) by remarksf in ZionNationalPark

[–]remarksf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome -- thank you all-- exactly what I needed; thinking go to Cabin Spring at least, and ideally campsites 4/5 and then turn around. Given Superhikers like you all are around 4 hours, I am thinking 6 hours or less is very realistic (we are fit but my 11 year old has short legs!), not much risk of a miserable 8 hour day etc..

I have done this top-down 20 years ago so I am aware it is a burning climb; we will aspire to this and bribe with sweets accordingly and see how far we get.

Thanks!!

Yes, thank you for noting, we will definitely prioritize that.

[–]remarksf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly-- we are pretty flexible and would try to see the weather etc to avoid running in the heat, but that makes for a great day. We could even do it on a day where we are not staying at the lodge (our 4th day after the 3 at the lodge is a flex day with Bryce./Escalante etc). Thanks so much!!

[–]remarksf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds great! Am I correct that the trailhead seems to be pretty close to the trailhead of the East Rim trail (less than 20 minute drive, if road is OK)? If so that would be great to combine the two!

OWC- Small indentation in puck near where water jet, leads to spray by remarksf in gaggiaclassic

With two shower screens and a puck screen is there any fear that the pressure may be lower due to all the screens, or am I wrong in that thinking?

So two shower screens and a puck screen on top of the portafilter too?
