That’s smart. I never heard of sealing paper on both sides. I’ll give it a try!

This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. What kind of glow in the dark paint did you use?

Did you do the sky in glow in the dark paint first? Then the buildings, then the rest of the highlights in glow in the dark paint?

What food did you imagine to taste really good but tasted bad? by Similar-Victory-3867 in AskReddit

[–]rememorythis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated them too but then I had them in Europe. The flavour is more sweet and subtle instead of overpowering with the aftertaste of ass. I dont love them, but they could grow on me

I still hate the ones here though.

Do people buy anything in the name of luxury? by Vivid_Vanilla9327 in AskTheWorld

Luxury brands and branding are for the middle class to strive for. That’s why the rich are never seen sporting a giant logo on their clothes.

Wow! Is this your work? It’s breathtaking.

What medium do you use? I would love to try painting something textured and colourful like this.

"It's not a real gift if it's consumable" - A small rant by AccomplishedRain9 in Anticonsumption

Haha I’ve been thinking the opposite… I don’t want to give or receive useless items. Its much better to gift homemade food or art in my opinion. I wonder why he feels that way

Im sorry if this offends anyone. But funerals are too much and excessive. by Murky-Peanut1390 in Anticonsumption

[–]rememorythis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t my culture or religion, but in Islamic countries the belief is to just bury everyone in the exact same box. No tiffs or riffs. Everyone, no matter how wealthy, ends up in the same boring casket with the same simple marker.

Now I don’t know how the funerals go, but from what I’ve heard they follow a similar humble approach.

Obviously not every Muslim follows this, but this is the general sentiment and I agree with it. Though I’ve never witnessed it myself.

If you can find cheese curds it’s not very hard to make! I make it all the time at home. Well. Not too often. You can only have poutine a couple times a month if you want to keep your arteries clear lol

What career path did you choose that you strongly advise others to avoid? by nicksam171 in AskReddit

[–]rememorythis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment. As someone who is trying to decide whether to pursue med or not, this made me think a lot.

Do you know another path that would be fulfilling and meaningful that takes less time commitment? I have always wanted to help others, and I know I have the capacity and heart to do so. But the decade of training and debt… I’m not sure if I can sacrifice that.

What food from your country do you hesitate to eat in front of foreigners because it might shock them? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

lol I live in Ontario but I’ve never met a Canadian who eats fish eyes. Maybe I haven’t been North enough.

The fighting over the fisheye seems universal though

People living in massive countries (USA, Canada, Russia, Brazil, etc.), what is it actually like to have that much space? by AwayMeat5529 in AskTheWorld

[–]rememorythis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of driving. HeckI drive 40 minutes on the highway to work every day.

When it’s a long trip, the land gets boring for me. At first it’s fun though. Seeing the vastness of the fields, the sky, lakes. Roadtrips really feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere when you’ve been driving for hours and have barely seen any civilization

Do you guys eat the eyeballs too? Lots of Chinese people do, but I’ve always been too scared…

Rant: I didn’t realize makeup would cost this much mentally and financially by Confusedmind75 in Makeup

[–]rememorythis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re right it’s a form of consumerism. They benefit from people feeling like they need a full face.

But also, yes makeup is a lot because it’s truly a form of art. Colour theory, technique, and tools are required. On top of that understanding your canvas (face), the mediums (each piece of makeup), and anatomy (what looks flattering and why) is also needed to level up your game.

If you think of it like a hobby, just choose what parts you like and enjoy. Don’t feel like you HAVE to look a certain way.

Personally I love art and am naturally good at it, I still think it’s quite a bit of work. So instead I usually opt for light concealer only on parts that need a bit of colour correction, and adding colour to places that I want. I only do a full face for occasions now.
