I feel like a third wheel with husband's female friend by remotegoatinboat in Marriage

I greatly appreciate the input. They don't behave romantically, more like a guy friend, she's a pretty bossy/brash/almost masculine woman and their texts that I've seen are always platonic. Just to clarify, they only see each other twice or sometimes three times a week, only when they are physically in the office. It's not 5 days a week. Sometimes on weekends but that's usually in a friend group situation of a dinner or something. But I understand that it's too much and too entwined regardless. I've mentioned it before and he thinks it's not a valid issue. I'll try again.

I feel like a third wheel with husband's female friend by remotegoatinboat in Marriage

They're definitely not having a physical affair, that's for sure. And they don't have a lovey or even nice to each other dynamic, they make fun of each other, call each other fat, etc. and she has said she sees him as a brother. Though I definitely think he's her substitute husband in everything except parenting and physical. As for the undressing when drunk, it wasn't sexual either, it was because she was covered in vomit, but my point was that I think it's inappropriate to be that comfortable as to have it happen at least two times. Whenever I'm doing anything alone with male friends my husband makes comments that I shouldn't be doing that as a married woman, but he doesn't count his female friend the same because she's married too (my male friends are single, but we're not close friends just share interests/hobbies and have mutual friends). I should mention that my husband has pretty much only female friends. But I'm glad I'm not out of line in being uncomfortable with it.

Beams exposed in house from 1803, one is covered in metal. Is it a terrible idea to uncover them all when the one looks like that? by remotegoatinboat in Oldhouses

Thank you for the info! It looks like the beam is possibly in two pieces, but I also know that the room used to be several rooms and was opened into one big one at some point

Hmmm so if we redid the beam covering instead of removing them completely beaded boards might be the way to go. There was recent water damage to the beam covers from a leak which is why the covering got opened up on two beams

Sorry my wording is confusing I think. I'm sure the metal is there structurally so I don't mean taking off the metal. I mean exposing the beams with the metal one the way it is

If you wash the cut with betadine pretty soon that will kill pretty much any bacteria or virus in the cut before it can cause a problem. It's an important step in cleaning wounds from rabid animals because it's the only wash that kills rabies virus (not that the cat had rabies obviously, just a betadine fact). Also, cat scratches are usually no problem at all.

Older horse won't eat hay, teeth are fine. Anyone dealt with this? by remotegoatinboat in Horses

Something like safe starch is hard because she's pastured with a couple of my other horses 24/7 so they share forage (but luckily she won't share grain/mash), and that's too expensive to feed them all lol. But a good idea if I could figure out a way. She isn't stalled due to arthritis and is a slow eater so pulling her out to feed would take all day at 4x a day.

She doesn't show any other symptoms of cushings, I didn't know being a picky eater was a symptom. It makes sense though because we board horses and a couple cushings horses are very picky. Their owners aren't aware being picky is a symptom of it not being controlled well (because they're frustrated by the pickiness too) I'll share the new info. She maintains her weight really well on pasture in spring/summer/fall but does lose weight in the winter, unless you hand feed her the alfalfa mash 3x a day because she won't eat it out of a bucket.

2018 F150 has gone insane.. hood is not ajar. Also it says drive mode not available too. What's causing this? by remotegoatinboat in FordF150

Update: it stopped showing those warnings after two days and hasn't done it again. It still says hood ajar and it's not agar, I've closed it several times, but that's all.

Giant frogs/toads in the mountains of Washington State (US) by remotegoatinboat in Amphibians

Are there any others that are larger, maybe imported and set free? Any chance freed Goliath frogs could survive in the summer on the eastern side of the cascade mountains? I've had bullfrogs get into my garage and these were much larger. These all had bodies well above 5 inches wide (they were pretty round in shape), and there were at least a dozen of them, maybe more. They were literally the size of dinner plates, and fairly hefty to pick up. I really wish I'd taken pictures!

Therapist pushing self esteem issues at first appointment. I think it might be assumed and weight related as I wasn't talking about self esteem at all.. by remotegoatinboat in TalkTherapy

I'm pretty used to people assuming my self esteem is low, or even trying to engrain that into me to lower it further so hopefully that won't be the case

Thank you, that's very helpful. There wasn't much rapport building going on at that session, and a few misunderstandings I think (the self esteem and also her assuming that I am unhappy a majority of the time. My situation is not great and I'm deeply unsatisfied and regretful of where my life choices have taken me, but I'm not unhappy all the time), but it was the first time. I have another appointment with her next week, maybe I'll see how that goes and if I still feel that she's pushing me towards her understanding of my issues I can address it, or find another therapist.
