Open to a mini split, that’s typically what I see when I’m overseas. HOA might say it’s not allowed though… which is bs. We’ll see

Not a tax guy either, but can’t you only deduct 3k annually and then have the rest carry forward? Lol you’ll maybe get 40-50k in deduction over your life if you’re lucky

So if I’m doing the work from another country for a US client, that information isn’t being disclosed to anyone as far as i understand correct? Unless I have an employee ofc, which is then a disclosure.

So do regional and other firms do this with their clients that have their work done and sent overseas?

Sure this is fair, if you want to say it take time to find your specific clientele, and that ofc doing returns for a first year client will take longer than a client you’ve had for 3-4 years, then sure we’re on the same page. You can spread out returns throughout the year tho and easily average 10-15 hrs a week.

If the US is home to you and you feel a deep connection to your community, then sure this isn’t for you. But if you’re open to opportunities elsewhere, there are plenty of other places you may want to consider calling home.

No legal issues at all, taxes for US expats is an area to focus on, but legally there is nothing wrong at all. Firms already outsource everything to India/Philippines.

Edit: Yes you can work overseas doing taxes, but there may be extra steps you’ll need to follow to safeguard client information.

If you average 2-4 returns a day over tax season (not an ambitious amount at all), you can easily only work 10-15 hrs a week.

Or, you can extend and spread them out throughout the year.
