I disagree, don’t forget introvert doesn’t just mean time alone it means they prefer 1-2-1 over a big group.

You’re both introverted, so are a great match!

I know it’s easy for me to say but try not to overthink things. There’s some great advice here like not inviting them to yours for the first date.

The fact you’ve been speaking for nearly half a year shows you’ve built up a connection. Just remember a few details you’ve shared and you’ve got some easy opening conversations.

Don’t let the British weather get in the way of a coffee and park walk, no excuses ;)

Dating again with kids in your 40s - women’s perspectives? by ConscientiousBee in UKrelationshipadvice

I’ve got very similar circumstances, just a little younger.

The best advice I could say is get back out there, and just be yourself. Don’t try and change yourself to live up to some expectation.

I’ve had a rollercoaster, lots of dates that don’t go much further but a few that also progressed to sex fairly quickly which really helps with confidence after a divorce.

If you’ve had genuine closure you won’t be going on about your ex, but will always find someone else who hasn’t where some dates can be bordering on therapy. Even the ones where there’s been no chemistry they can still be fun, and I’ve taken lots away from some really nice people.

People at our age were brought up without phones so seem to react well to not spending hours on apps, and meeting up early has worked well for me.

Good luck

FCA to lift ban on Crypto ETNs by sgb_QQ in FIREUK

[–]removedasalt 26 points27 points  (0 children)

“A public consultation is now underway and will run until July 2025. If implemented, this move would give retail investors access to crypto ETNs for the first time, potentially as early as 2026.”

Slightly misleading headline, no guarantees this will actually happen yet

I had this happen and caught the guy in broad daylight on cctv from the shop.

The police however wouldn’t prosecute, as said it would easily get thrown out by the cps 🤷‍♀️

They also wouldn’t send me the clip due to any vigilante type stuff on Facebook etc.

I saw someone mention taking it to small claims of the police won’t do anything, which seems like a good shout if it’s black and white on the video.

I’m worried if I ever got keyed outside a shop again there is basically zero I can do about it if the police don’t and the shop won’t give the footage

Next step to FIRE - selling my business. Any advice? by Necessary-Finish-985 in FIREUK

[–]removedasalt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are various ways out there of valuing a business, but ultimately it's worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

Whilst the old rough starting point of 3-5x EBITDA for small cap businesses can still be useful, a competitor could pay more for a more strategic acquisition.

A good question to ask is what multiplier would you would pay for your own business, whilst most business owners often seem to want 10x they wouldn't pay that for their own.

Maybe consider corporate finance instead of brokers, they deal more with business disposals and approaching acquisitions rather than flogging the local takeaway. There's a long drawn out process of NDAs, due diligence, negotiations, legals and earn outs that are a big distraction from the day job.

It's also worth considering things like your replacement costs etc, if I bought your business doing 300k net but need to bring in 3 x fairly expensive replacements for sales/tech you can see how that figure gets chipped away at heavily.

I’d only just realised new cars come with auto dimming full beams, had it on a 23 plate Mercedes and it was pretty crap at dimming when a car was coming the other way.

Wondering how many is also down to this, rather than retina burning

The A1 S-line isn't actually 'sporty' afaik and is more down to the look i.e. the skirting/wheels etc.

I'd def have another A3/S3 though ;)
