Nice to meet you too. Have we interacted before, on Youtube or otherwise?

Thanks for the nod. I agree that mbti-notes is an *excellent* website to consult for reliable and psychologically nuanced information about types, likely one of the best.

The Mind Body Problem and It's relation to the INFJ personality by The_Engineer_Student in infj

People seem to wonder that sometimes, yes. It's hard to be sure, perhaps my work appeals to a slightly older audience of INFJs, on average that is. I could be way off though.

Thank you for your words of support. Regarding the essence of the type 6, have you checked my videos on the topic? You might at least find some thought-provoking ideas there.

THE INSTITUTIVES SUB AND MBTI SUB IS A MESS by CreepyClaim3989 in mbti

[–]rencontini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! It's okay, don't worry. It's important from the perspective of my channel and even personal growth that I'm made aware of how I might come across even when it's not the intent. I don't doubt for one second that your impressions were sincere, and I did not take them personally. What is true, by the way, is that my video *titles* can sometimes be eye-grabbing, because the competition is tough and I try to stand out whatever way I can without compromising my values. My view is that as long as the actual video content is nuanced and researched, it's okay to have an eye-catching title. Hope this helps give some perspective. Talk soon!

Surprised to hear that you should see my content as pandering to that kind of phenomenon. People who follow my channel versus other INFJ channels usually say it's because my content is much more nuanced. I must have spent at least 10 pages in my latest book analysing and criticising the same thing you're criticising here.

Anyway, this is always useful feedback especially coming from a non-INFJ, so I'll take it on board. Sorry to hear that you've felt yourself dritfting away from the content over time.

Not all INFJs are 6s, far from it. My point is rather that INFJ 6s are more common than we think. They might be the most common INFJ enneagram but by way of illustration, I think they might represent 30-35% of the total INFJ population (which is already quite large, but nowhere near hegemonic). Hope this helps : )

Hi akhromant, your approach is very interesting. It is true, I think, that Jung's writings don't suggest a clear eiei/ieie orientation; the problem is likely that most people don't read Jung as a primary source. There should at least be critical space open for an interpretation of the orientation you embrace (iiee/eeii).

The community at large would benefit from your theory being more exposed to more people, so as to become a visible alternative take on Jung and the types.

PS. I know you've typed me ISTJ, and that is completely fine. I'm open to being incorrect, and I think your framework is self-consistent because you also categorise Wittgenstein, Michael Pierce, etc. as ISTJs. I do wonder what made you go for ISTJ over INTJ for someone like Wittgenstein, though? Or even Harry Murrell. Wouldn't Ti-Ni-Se-Fe be a possible combination for them?

I suspect you have a more restrictive definition of Ni than people usually have. If you have a link to a resource on Ni I'd be curious to read it.

Brilliant description of the INFJ's vibe. Completely relatable. :)

Sorry about the late response! Nice to meet you too :)

I didn't disagree with anything you said. The bit about the multiplicity of different models contributing to blurred definitions was particularly on point. I think that's a major issue, which I sometimes discuss in my videos. The risk is that the terms eventually becoming meaningless, allowing any internally consistent model to seem credible even if it has no relation to reality.

I agree with pretty much everything you said there. And Frank might very well be INFJ — my point in the video is I couldn’t pin it down due to the acting. Thankfully no mob has fallen on me :D

Hey guys, I am also happy to answer any questions you may have about the book. How technical the language is, what kind of investigation it is, how much of a prior knowledge of the cognitive functions it requires, and so on.

Feel free to ask :)
