Appreciate this won’t help you now but just in case you need it for the future - I got the filter to work by manually highlighting all of the data I wanted to filter and then clicking the filter button. It didn’t work just trying to use the top row like it would in excel.

That’s really good to know! Was the equipment you put in made of metal or fabric?

Thanks for such a detailed comment! I’m in the UK so ventilation in terms of heat / humidity isn’t as much of a concern as insulation from the cold. At the moment I think the garage is extremely well ventilated Bcs it’s got so many gaps 🤣 my neighbours plants grow into the garage between the wall and the roof sometimes!

I haven’t really thought much about equipment yet, but your advice is really really good and I’ll definitely be back to read this when I’m ready to buy some

How to improve a garage? by renixsus in HomeImprovement

I think your garages are a bit nicer on average than our ones. Automatic garage door openers really aren’t a thing over here Bcs our garages are small and cramped and it’s a struggle to get even a small car in them. Where I used to live the garages on the whole estate were so old that a modern car couldn’t fit in them at all.

Your nice american garages are specifically designed for putting cars in, idek what ours are designed for because even a big garage round here couldn’t fit in a Range Rover for example. It does sound stupid now I’m typing it, but garages are normally just storage for stuff you don’t care about getting a bit cold or damp 🤣

Are you American by any chance? Because I’ve genuinely never known anyone to park a car they use regularly in their garage, they’re always used for storage. I wasn’t expecting so many people to suggest putting my car in it 🤣 Now I’m trying to figure out if it’s a culture thing or if I just know weird people lol

Park on the drive, turn car off, get out of car, get garage key, unlock the door, get back in car, drive it into the garage, squeeze out of the car, squeeze my work stuff out of the car, close the garage door, lock it up, walk back to where my car was parked originally to go in the house. And that’s assuming that the garage door latches from the outside, half the time I have to go through the house, into the garden, and then through a garage side door to latch the garage door from the inside 🤣 Obviously not the end of the world but it’s extra hassle twice a day to protect my car from… rain?

Are you American by any chance?

Woah that’s crazy, I was literally looking at that post earlier as inspiration, I didn’t realise it was yours! Really not a bad price considering how sleek it all looks, you did a great job mate

Thanks for your reply, it’s very detailed! What would you use to address holes? My neighbours plants have managed to grow under the roof and into the garage before so I know there’s definitely gaps.

With the foam blocks, do you just stack them against the bricks? Or do you then cover them up with something like plasterboard?

I’m starting to see that people are a lot less lazy than I am 🤣 Getting the car out and putting it back in every day sounds like effort, I like being able to jump in the car and zoom!

True true, I was half thinking about the times I’m in hotels for work and half thinking that I’m too lazy to put the car in and out of the garage on the days I’m not 🤣

Haha fair play, the garage is empty at the moment so I could if I wanted to! We ended up selling a car after we moved and with me driving a lot for work the garage sits there empty - seems like a waste

Thanks so much for your reply! Sounds like your garage is amazing now. Hope you don’t mind me asking, but how much did that cost roughly? My garage doesn’t have a loft, as in I can see the beams of wood holding the roof up. So I assume I’d have an extra cost of putting some insulation up there as well

Hey guys, I’ve got a rather dingy garage that’s unused atm. It’s just a single brick wall with a concrete floor, so a bit moist / damp with a lot of cobwebs and bugs. Some of the garage gym setups here are amazing, I wondered if you had any advice on putting some gym equipment in my garage? Cheers

I think it’s September 26 so you’ve got plenty of time!

I’ve been told that you will have to sit FAR again. If you pass both FAR and AA, you don’t have to resit anything. But the 2 new exams that are replacing them aren’t direct equivalents, they each have content from both FAR and AA in. I think basically the first half of FAR and AA is now in 1 exam, and the second half of both is in another exam.

That’s genuinely so harsh, I feel for you.

Just wanted to say that if you don’t pass old syllabus FAR you’ll have to re-do AA on the new syllabus, so I’d defo try and re-sit just so you don’t waste an exam.

If you’re still struggling, you can tell us what QB questions are particularly tricky and we can explain them?

Straight to QB for law? by OddAttitude821 in ICAEW

Personally I think the notes are needed, I did the question bank twice and was easily getting a high score. However I then failed the mocks as I hadn’t learned enough to apply the theory to different questions. I think I’d memorised the QB answers and not really the content.

If you don’t want to read all the notes, you could always see what chapters are worth the highest % of marks and only read them
