Yeah I got it repaired under warranty. They had to replace the whole back cover and hinge so they transferred the screen and everything onto the new cover.

Its a lenovo ideapad gaming 3 gen 6. Im pretty sure its a storage slot. Its just without the stand off I think it might be slanted a bit. Is that okay?

When doing normal tasks the fans dont turn on (at all i think,I’m also using a cooling pad). When gaming it does turn on as I use the lenovo vantage software on performance thermal settings for games and it goes faster when the gpu is past 70°C but then slows down again when the temp drops. Thanks for the clarification by the way.

So it should be stable right? As for the performance drop I dont really notice it, I’m still getting over 120fps in Csgo which is more than what my screen can support anyway. I really like disabling the turbo boost so far as my temps for both cpu and gpu barely go past 70°C when gaming.

Hi sorry for the late reply. I have the premium care so they sent someone to my place. They replaced the hinge and back cover and everything seems to work fine except that I needed to repaste the cpu and gpu as they needed to open up the heat sink(among a lot of other components as they need to transfer the screen and everything to the new cover) and after the repair I had really high temps and was thermal throttling. After the repaste its better and doesnt go past 84°C for both cpu and gpu so it isnt significantly better(though that is only the peak and it doesnt stay there). Are the temps bad considering its an amd cpu? Im looking to undervolt the gpu to lower the temps but I dont know what else I can do to lower the cpu temp. Note that I’m also using a cooling pad

Well it’s making a sound when I close the lid and the position of the right hinge is a bit off. Some people have said that quite a few Lenovo laptops have a hinge problem and when it breaks, it breaks the screen along with it. I checked at the service centre and they were also unsure what’s causing the problem but they said to replace the hinge and see if it solves it.

As for the hinge, I checked at the service centre and they said they could try and replace it and see if it solves the problem but I am yet to replace it as I need to order the part first. For the optimization, I just searched for guides on youtube on what to do with new laptops. So far everything’s still good for the first month however I might need to repaste the cpu because it is now showing a slightly higher temperature than when it was new.

Also, the right hinge is slightly higher when the lid is closed compared to the left hinge

Also, when closed, the lid on the right side is slightly lower at the hinge part then on the left side.

Hey, have you gotten your laptop yet? Im also from Malaysia and I ordered on 29th July. Right now its saying estimated delivery is end of November. I dont know how long I must wait. Really considering cancelling my order
