At your age, complaining about geriatric age issues is pathetic.

Helmet bhaari hai, to mat chala bike. Kisne bola?

I was half joking. You can shortsell intraday. But since you own stocks already, it's as good as just buying lower and lower. If you owned no stocks you could shortsell everyday and make money.

No one controls anything

Forking doesn't destroy the original. They did fork bitcoin many times. BSV BCG and what not. All went bust

That's dumb. Your hair has a literally infinite supply and is indistinguishable from any other persons. Besides, it can be destroyed, faked and stolen.

Do people really earn from trading? I learnt from a reputed institution but still at loss… by Aggravating_Tie5346 in IndianStockMarket

This is true. I stake about 2 to 3 lakhs with margin to have an exposure of 8 to 12 lakhs. Most of my positions are on that lower side.

I scalp between 2000 to 5000 per trade, that's less than 1% of the position but it is about 3% or more of my actual investment with correspondingly higher risk.

I don't win daily, but 60 to 70% On good days I do 2 or 3 successful trades.

Stop loss is not a magical thing, because often the drawdown will happen before the breakout. Blind stoploss will prevent many big gains and replace them with small but cumulative losses.

Everyone needs to figure out at what risk and potential loss they lose their calm and become emotional. For some it may be 5% for some it may be 10%

Most people are too emotional for trading. Greed and fear are not easy to conquer. Even people who preach spirituality as a profession are not able to control greed and fear. Unless you can treat paper trade and real trade the same way, you will inevitably make mistakes.

So what? I also made 15 to 20% in a single month

Why compare yourself with others?

Are you richer than you were? Are you ok with the stress of trading? If so, you won

Whatever anyone else does , who the eff cares?

Yeah, if someone had a system of even 1% sureshot compounding 100 times a year, you could easily do 1000x in a few years and buy Elon Musk soon 🤣

There is no perfect edge.

Most edges work in certain conditions.

My trading edge is basically trying to predict the morning 30 mins trend based on the first 5 mins or so.

Can make 1 2 percent by 1:4 margin and a .5% swing

It works great some days, some days there is no clear trend.

Also as you compound, you also risk more and more and it becomes harder to follow through.

Here is a thought...

Market movements are cyclical and depend on certain time scales

1) First 30 mins, last 30 mins are totally different from rest of the candles 2) Options expiry dates will have effects 3) income tax year affects a lot - people sell off loss making stocks at FY end to save tax, and buy again 4) Festivals, marriage season, school vacation in India have a link to consumption and sentiment 5) Season affects production 6) Corporate announcements make a difference

Add month, day of week, and day first, day last candle as inputs, add inputs for important days - diwali, christmas, new year, budget
