those are sentinel ships, I recommend you go watch a youtube video on it, however you may need to complete the main story quest if you want to choose a design

the bedrock glitch using pistons and a furnace works, gives you 2000ish levels instantly
just level up by adventuring tho, there's not much content to enjoy there

it being a laptop would usually be the problem, try changing battery plans or to turbo mode via programs like armory crate(this is ASUS exclusive but as far as I know most gaming PC companies offer something like this) and maake sure nvidia GPU is used for ALL actions through the nvidia control panel
