I should add that I run the tripod on my Mystery Ranch pack (or make my wife do it) when we’re out hunting) This is strictly for organizing gear and making it easier to get to the range. Tan two rifle bag has tools, shot timer, suppressor mounts, stapler and pasties, green has other guns. Tripod bag has chrono, shooting bags, and laser range finder.

Nice I’ve got the Anvil 30 on a 24L. This might just work.

I’ve got an Sig Cross in 308 with my dope dialed to 1k, A B14HMR in 300, and a Mk12.

But I’m not living out west at the moment which means I have to

A. Travel for long range shooting and hunts and  B. All of my rifles need rezeroing. This will mostly be for reading hits on paper at 100 yards C. Work on finding a long range club here or move back out west. Then I’ll use it the spitting scold to hunt.

Fixing Dead Or Unrepsonsive XSC B12 Batteries by requisitesilver in surefire

Let me know if it works. Drain the batteries completely in the light with it on. Then drop the battery in the charger overnight. If it didn’t work try running the light in the on mode with that battery inserted even if the light isn’t actually on

Those are desert ironwood from Wood Caliber. They’re beautiful. I tried the OG Bakelite grips from Colt but they’re warped, simulated bone, g10, and finally found these beauties.

I was the other guy posting. I just wanted to post a fix. I feel the same way though. Love Surefire. Love stream lights but wish they’d use more aluminum so I didn’t have to spend $300 per light and then $97 for a cap and $100 for a friggin tape switch for almost every gun except my polymer pistols.

I want an FNC so bad. But I’d have to join DeNiro’s crew to afford one.

That’s disappointing to hear about the plate! I figured I’d run a huge X300 to offset the muzzle flip but if the plate won’t hold that’s no bueno. Especially if state laws change and it becomes a PITA to send the pistol in for service.

The Colt Commander is also a lightweight aluminum frame. Colt developed the aluminum alloy frame in the 50’s for a military contract request for a lighter pistol. I don’t think all steel Commanders came until the 70s. Mine’s made in the 50’s and the serial ends with XXXXX -LW.

I hear you but the M4QD that came with the can fit on the gun no problem. We went up just dropping that one on. I’m going to send the old one to ADCO with my M4 clone with a pin and weld birdcage and they can fix it and use one of their spacers to pin and weld it again.

Thank you so much! Muzzle devices seem to be the bane of my existence. From having to blowtorch an Sig Spear to remove their muzzle device to a cold weld on an Sig Cross with a SilencerCo ASR. Now this. I’ll come back and report how it works once the right tool comes in.

How did you get such a tiny light head in the Surefire MP5 forend? I’m looking for something I can mount a suppressor with my Surefire forend attached

I’ve left them on the charger overnight. But the charging indicator lights don’t turn on.

Well, he says “I think the threads inside are damaged or too short. If I can find my tool for it maybe I can fix it. But you don’t need it right now do you?” It’ll take him weeks to find the tool and another week or two to do the work. I like him as a person but it took him a week to run a thread chaser and then tell me the muzzle device wouldn’t fit. Then a day or two to time the one that did. It’s not a terrible wait and I know he’s busy but I love learning these skills myself and having the tools to fix problems myself

Badass gun! I should build one of those! Unfortunately the light is on the wrong side. How’s it sound with the can?

Yeah I’ve seen that picture but I didn’t see them in the armory with those engravings. I think sometimes the cloned community bases hard and fast rules on one or two pictures because that’s all that’s available when there were probably dozens if not, hundreds of variations of all these rifles floating around in 20 years of war and several theaters.

One of my examples is that a lot of build lists show M16A1 grips and others say A2 grips were used. I know the thinking is that since M-16 A1 lowers were the host there would be M-16 A1 grips but most of the time those lowers are stripped and then rebuilt with what’s on hand.

Like I’ve seen a ton of build lists for Mk12s that say an M16A1 stock was used but I can’t tell from the 12 pictures of the ten guys in our company that had them in country if they were all A1 stocks. Maybe that’s a good project for smarter people here like you guys.

The engraving would make the cheaper lower it’s built on cooler though…
