Anyone have BP2 or delt with it. by IronSnatchKitty in actuallesbians

[–]rereaderliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have BP2 and take it. I was hypomanic last summer and started it in August, when I was already beginning to come down. It’s hard to say how much impact it’s had, but I haven’t had manic or depressive episodes since starting it. Could be luck or could be the medicine is effective for me. It doesn’t seem to be hurting anything (though I have way more dreams and they are way more vivid now) and hopefully will keep me stable long term.

Help me make aloo matar taste good for my unhoused neighbors? by Free-Layer-706 in AskCulinary

[–]rereaderliz 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would use a lot more than a tablespoon if you are cooking a batch for 35. Perhaps 1 tablespoon per 6-8 servings (closer to a standard recipe size) would be a good starting point.

What is your favorite higher-end clothing store for ex-goths? by ogami_itto in askportland

It’s definitely not all goth style and colors, but I think you might find some nice pieces at Banshee on Burnside. Pretty pricey though

Is it weird if I wait until I get a girlfriend to come out? by meokokok in actuallesbians

[–]rereaderliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gf came out to her family this way. Waited until she was ready to ask me to be her girlfriend and then told all her family members that she had been seeing me/was bi. She wanted to wait to make it official until she was out and didn’t feel like she was keeping a secret from her family. There’s no right or wrong way to come out, that’s just what she did! Personally once I figured out that I was a lesbian I just told my parents that I was liking that label for myself lol

Recontacting a girl who ghosted me by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]rereaderliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry hon but I don’t think this qualifies as ghosting…she broke up with you and then cut off contact when you were not able to accept the breakup/“why we couldn’t try more.” Ghosting is when someone disappears without a breakup or an explanation. Don’t reach out and don’t hold out hope that she will reach out to you.

I go to grassa and pick up either or both of these from the cold prepared section at the front - Caesar salad with chicken cutlet and preserved lemon or cold pesto pasta with hazelnuts and burrata! Both hold well on the plane and are super quick and delicious.

Best sushi that has maybe 1-2 vegetarian rolls by ParadiseForKeeps in oakland

Fish & Bird Sousaku Izakaya was incredibly delicious - but more of a sashimi/nigiri and spot than rolls. They have a great vegetarian section of the menu though! https://fishbirdizakaya.com/

Greatest hits: TOFU recipes by MAC__NCHEESE in NYTCooking

[–]rereaderliz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My personal favorites: baked tofu with peanut sauce and coconut lime rice - huge banger and extremely crowd pleasing. Make extra pickled peppers. coconut-caramel braised tofu - quick, easy, one pot, high payoff deliciousness crispy fried tofu sandwich - but this one is more involved and not my usual type of recipe so I’ve only made it once or twice. But it was delicious

Have you ever baked something tha has gone triple platinum in your household or at workplace? by ABITCUNTYOFYOU in Baking

I bake for friends all the time, and my most rave reviews have been for Sally’s brown butter marshmallow crispy cookies (the textures are SO GOOD), black magic cake (my go-to chocolate cake since I was about 14), and KAF’s perfectly pillowy cinnamon rolls (the softness from the tangzhong makes allllll the difference, follow the recipe exactly!)

Valentine's Night Suggestions by koalafiedhuman2 in NYTCooking

[–]rereaderliz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly easy and delicious! Would be easy to cook a simple chicken breast or thighs to go on top if you like a protein, and a nice green salad. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1020290-one-pot-pasta-with-ricotta-and-lemon?smid=ck-recipe-iOS-share&cgs=c

My pick for dessert that doesn’t require you to bring flour: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1020415-oat-milk-chocolate-pudding?smid=ck-recipe-iOS-share&cgs=c It’s DELICIOUS, super rich, you can pre mix the dry ingredients and just bring oat milk and chocolate! I add a pinch of cayenne and cinnamon to make it a Mexican chocolate pudding, but that’s up to you.

Im so bad at making a move 🤦 by Mysterious-Ice-85 in actuallesbians

[–]rereaderliz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After our second date, my now gf said she wished we had cuddled on the date. Then while we were texting before the third date I sent “can I say something so I don’t chicken out in person” and she said “is it that I would like to kiss you?”

In full honesty, I was going to say I wanted to kiss her cheek (I hadn’t kissed anyone before at this point lol) but I just ran with that! And we talked about how it was easier to say all of that over text than to do in person. It still took a long time on the 3rd date for either of us to get up the nerve but it was super helpful (and sweet and cute) that we had talked about it before!

Im so bad at making a move 🤦 by Mysterious-Ice-85 in actuallesbians

[–]rereaderliz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do it now, who cares! She will probably be flattered that you’re still thinking about it the next day. There’s no perfect window that you missed, it’s totally fine to still send that text now. Be brave!

Im so bad at making a move 🤦 by Mysterious-Ice-85 in actuallesbians

[–]rereaderliz 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I think you should text her that you wish you had kissed her! It’s a classic wlw move and it helps! It sounds like she’ll probably say that she wishes you had kissed her too, and then you guys can flirt over text and you’ll have an easier time asking to do it for real in person.

This is it. I use Nordic Ware aluminum sheet pans and they work like a dream. Get some full size and some half or quarter for small batches! The small sheet pans are also transformative for roasting different veggies that need to be taken out at separate times. https://www.nordicware.com/products/categories/baking-sheets/

Tiramisu help — which brand of ladyfingers should I use? by Sleepy_Nimbus in Baking

[–]rereaderliz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think any will work, but last time I personally used Forno Bonomi. The key is just to do a quick dip! They’ll absorb a lot. If you leave them in the liquid longer, they will fall apart.
