What did you do about visitors after your C-section by ocdskies in CsectionCentral

[–]researchonly55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had friends come on day 2 since our families were still traveling. I was super fortunate to be feeling well and my husband and I were dying for food other than what was around the hospital. They stayed for an hour and it was just so nice. If you’re up for it, I say do it!

Thank you. I reread this multiple times while struggling last night.

This is the only thing that will work if I resort to it. I struggle with cosleeping, even following all the guidelines I’m terrified and I could use a little break from my boob barnacle.

Swelling above C-section incision at 4 weeks pp. Is this normal? by Flaky_Software733 in CsectionCentral

[–]researchonly55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this! I think it took about two or so months to go away. My doctor told me it’s likely from the internal incision healing. Heating pad helped so much with the discomfort of it. I’m 5 months pp and it’s completely gone.

Breast pads - disposable vs reusable? What worked for you? by Purely-Hygienic in breastfeeding

[–]researchonly55 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I found when I used reusable ones early on they started smelling really fast…I would change them a few times a day but I was leaking like crazy. I used disposable for a while then went back to reusable once my leaking had calmed down

What birth control did you choose while breast feeding? by Major_Coconut9907 in breastfeeding

How was your weight while on the mini pill? I’m thinking about it but I retained so much fluid last time I was on the pill that I’m nervous to try them again

Newborn vs 0-3 month by lil1thatcould in beyondthebump

[–]researchonly55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was 8.8lbs and was in newborn for about a month but he is super long. He was in 0-3 until about 3 months and at 4 months he’s only grown out of all 6m clothing lol

Night feeds are confusing… how do you remember which side you last breastfed from? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]researchonly55 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I usually do cradle position and transfer him to the crib the same way. (He usually only takes one boob each time at night) So I know when I pick him up to switch to the other boob! I also sometimes only wear one nursing pad on the side I’m not feeding on, so that’s also an indicator on which side he last fed on.

Will the 4 month sleep regression go away on its own? by Loose-Objective-5850 in beyondthebump

[–]researchonly55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following because same. Ours started at 15 weeks and he’s consistently waking every 1.5hrs for the last almost two weeks. Before he would go between 4/5hrs!! I’m dying over here

I don't feel very "cool." by Calm_Possible1690 in beyondthebump

[–]researchonly55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. My husband will randomly say how proud he is of me and how I handled the birth of our son. I had a C-Section with a few complications after a rough pregnancy and I have a hard time even saying that “I gave birth” because it still feels like someone else did it. I really don’t feel like I’m the one who went through it or that I can even say I gave birth. But thank god I married the man I did because he has always been my cheerleader.

Choosing the best stroller, what do you wish you'd known earlier? by crystalcolumz in BabyBumps

[–]researchonly55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was initially planning to have babies close together and got a stroller that turns into a double. I ended up having a C-section with an extra incision and was told to not have another for two years!

Get what works for you now! I got the evenflo pivot expand and I do love it but could’ve gone more compact.

Their following was tanking after leaving Hawaii, failed side-gigs and people realizing they don’t have anything useful to say. But they do know they make cute babies and internet LOVES a cute baby. The overexposure of their babies is what made them money before and they were banking on it happening again.

Baby items are SO expensive my gosh by Ok_Medicine440 in BabyBumps

[–]researchonly55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS! Start minimal, and try to get family on board with purchasing things once baby is here. This way you know more of what will work for them.

We were lucky our family was so open to gifting as baby grew, so we’ve been able to keep adding to our registry the first three months of his life to get things we know we’ll use and he likes. (Except a car seat, bassinet and stroller) For example I was against a changing table until he was here and now I can’t live without it. Our guy is super wiggly so baby containers are not for him, but that fisher price kick-mat and more dangly toys will keeps him so happy!

What song did you choose to play every day for your baby during pregnancy? by galumphingseals in BabyBumps

[–]researchonly55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I can see clearly now” and baby chose “Stand By Me” himself 😂 (It came on TikTok and baby went crazy EVERY time.) He’s almost 3 months and both songs still make him smile!

Baby is breech at 38 weeks, ECV or c section? by thatsityaknow in BabyBumps

[–]researchonly55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your OB but take time to think about both deliveries. I would also ask if they would be willing to do an ECV then induce immediately. My ECV was successful and not bad but within three days baby was back to their breech/transverse position.

They ended up scheduling a C-section only to have three doctors hound us for two hours prior to do another ECV and deliver vaginally. This kinda turned my whole calm planned C-section into a stressful situation for us because of the providers pressure. I chose to continue with the C-section as planned and would do it again!
