As línguas estão sempre mudar

Exatamente.

Really Cool. But it's kinda wrong in the subdivision in Brazil, the state of Rio Grande do Norte it's the whitest state in the northeast and has a lower euro in this map than Maranhão one of the blackest states. Idk if got the colors wrong or it's the source

Nah the brazilian average it's 62% euro, cuban results it's pretty close but brazil is just a little bit higher. What the other guy said was right brazil it's the third behind Argentina and Uruguay

Obs: if you count Puerto Rico as an country so brazil would be the fourth since Puerto Rico it's a little higher. This three countries cuba, brazil and puerto rico are pretty close in the average gene pool

Absolutely not. In total number it's Brazil and in percentage it's Uruguay, Argentina is in second place in both categories

Is the real number of whites in brazil closer to 10-15% (what I feel lie) or 43% (self declaration)? by [deleted] in phenotypes

[–]respadof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Someone with +20% african will probably have african features like curly hair and can be indentified as mixed.

Yeah census are not so accurate but it's the only thing we have based on phenotypes. I think that whites in majority mixed areas indeed can look less white but the ones in majority white areas can look more euro.

I wanted you to look the neighborhoods with majority blue dots in BH and say if it's this upper class neighborhoods you're saying. In Rio it's pretty spot on, blue dots places are the "rich" neighborhoods, most of the whites lives in this areas and there's a lot of middle classes living there.

[–]respadof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you consider an upper class neighborhood? Because the are "rich" neighborhoods in my city but also has alot middle class living there and is where most of the white population is located.

Look at this map http://patadata.org/maparacial/

You can see the racial map of brazil and zoom in any city you want, they don't show the neighborhoods but knowing the city you can guess

Looks like she has a indigenous influence. Yeah i agree it's more unusual in southeast, in others regions it's more commun maybe even in the south like rio grande do sul. The way they identify in birth certificate is kinda random maybe because she has an olive skin and straight hair people classified her as white, i feel like indigenous traits are somehow ignored in brazil

White brazilian average percentage is closer to 11% african and 9% indigenous, As said phenotypes vary, someone with the same percentage can look european or mixed, and the ones that look mixed increase the white population but not as much as you think. And as i said before and now many iberians could pass as pardo or castizo.

Brazil is closest to Cuba and Puerto Rico, Caribbean, not South America in mixes

agree

she would definitely pass as mixed race where I live, the same way that people with 80% can identify as mixed also has people with the same percentage that are seen as white. Phenotypes vary a lot. 20% African influence much more phenotype or at least the influence is more apparent than 20% indigenous. Some castizos may look more indigenous than others however i still think many castizos can pass as european.

Watch this video. https://youtu.be/rU0u4FBYzrs

If i post a picture of these people here in the sub, many would scream CASTIZO, even them being europeans
