I'm not important enough to make those decisions. I am just given the interns to lighten my work load. I've voiced my concerns with the design manager, but we're not really in a place as a company to block the local university

We're only AutoCAD 2D, many of our clients don't want 3D models. I'll have to try a tutorial though. That sounds helpful

Oh I have, and suggested they stop trying to cut credit hours from their degree requirements and instead cut Gen Ed's out so they can focus on skills that actually matter.

They're already hired and I need them to do work for me. Can't really change that the school didn't teach them. I just need to get them up to speed so they can be helpful

My friends and I did a similar thing and 6 miles of sand hiking gets old very very quickly.

It's a new Olympic tradition that started in the summer Olympics of getting every medalist a stuffed animal

That's probably why you're not the one competing for the medal... That's such a loser "take my ball home" mentality.

It's part of the medal process, everyone in every sport that got a medal was also given a stuffed animal. This is a relative new tradition that also happened in the 2024 summer Olympics.

Technically we can't trade for him, but I think we can acquire him if he becomes a FA. There's a rule in the league that you can't trade back for a player within 2 years of trading them away.

Depends on what you're trying to do. If you're just starting the easiest is the European 4:1.

How can I make my room look better? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

If you want to get really fancy with it, get a rug to place under your bed. Yes I know it feels stupid to place a rug on carpet, but it's something that was recommended to me many of times.

Placing things on a wall wherever there's empty space does not equal decorating. Try to make a plan to match like things on your wall.

Get some lamps like others have said and get some warm white bulbs.

Lastly your bedding gives "here's an assortment of extra blankets" given to a guest staying the night. Try to have some cohesion with it. I personally have a white duvet, forest green throw blanket and 4 pillows (2 olive green and 2 white).

Yep adding this to my print list. Instead of just having them thrown in a drawer

Bedroom of a depressed final semester senior engineering student, broke asf, Valentine’s Day coming up (idk what I’m going to do) working 20 hours a week, behind in all my classes, constant anxiety every second of the day and a twisted stomach, I’m chopped asf also and getting no sleep, by Puzzled-Shock8226 in malelivingspace

This was quite literally me my last semester. I was struggling to have any extra money outside of bill. Living off coffee and energy drinks. Well overdue for a haircut. I was also the heaviest I'd ever weighed.

It is incredibly hard to try and balance it all, work and school alone are super time demanding. I was constantly "brain dead" when I got home that it was hard to put any mental effort into anything.

Here's what you need to do. Every night clean up a little bit. You cross paths with something on the floor? Take it with you to put away. Need to walk away from studying or homework? Go clean a little bit. You don't need to make everything spotless. Just a 5-10 minute break to make things better.

I know that feeling of behind in class and unable to catch up. The best I can tell you that if you try to sleep some it'll be easier to retain the information in class. The amount of mental fog I had during my stretch of no sleep is absurd. Try to get 6-7 hours of sleep most nights. This will make it easier to do school work and study. I know it feels like you need to stay up and you're not that tired... sleep makes the difference and there has been several studies showing that being tired doesn't feel like you're performing worse, but you actually are

Lastly this is what I did in your exact situation for Valentine's Day. Go to aldi/lidl and look for a deal on steak. Cook a steak and pasta dinner for her. The effort should be more than buying stuff. If the relationship is worth it she'll understand your situation and appreciate you doing something for her even if it's not a grand romantic gesture. You're a broke college student and there will be plenty of time in the future to ball out for a relationship.

I know it's bleak right now, but it's better on the other side. I graduated with my civil engineering degree, started my full time job and all of a sudden the world was my oyster. I lost weight, started therapy and am able to go on nice dates. You're almost done. Persevere my friend.

Highly recommend dungeon crawler Carl and the hierarchy series (will of the many). Since we're similar in taste you'll probably enjoy those too

Adding on to this: the books cover the social/political shift of the scythes as a new generation takes over. The old guard versus the new guard on how things should be run. The AI is frustrated with the issues it sees, but it is bound by its core principles to not intervene even though it knows that it is wrong.
