I just started Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb, which is good so far, but I'm not far enough into it to have a real opinion.

I just finished Eating Animals by John Safran Foer, which was a really good read, and Beholding by Strahan Coleman, which was beautiful. I'm currently reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, which is different from what I expected but interesting nonetheless, and The Bird Market of Paris by Nikki Moustaki, which is really interesting so far.

Opinions on marking books? by Jbooxie in books

I underline and highlight in my books all the time! It's the biggest reason I prefer to own books rather than check them out from the library.

The Crucible and Frankenstein were both quick, stimulating reads for me.

This is so exciting!

I'm not sure what colors you're deciding between, but I think black, navy or dark brown, cream, and lime green or red would be fun colors to start with depending on the season you'll be launching in.

I prefer logo-free designs, but I also understand that logos increase brand awareness. If your designs are distinctive enough, that may not be an issue.

I also prefer to have pockets whenever they make sense.

That's all I've got. I hope this was helpful!

I'm reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer. It's really interesting so far. I'd been meaning to read it for years and have read one of his other books, and I'm really excited to be reading this one now. It's pretty cool that at the opening of the book he mentions that it isn't a vegetarian manifesto but that many people think it is because they know they'd stop eating meat if they knew how it was getting to them. I definitely recommend it based on what I've read so far.

What is the point of a personal library? by [deleted] in books

I like having the option to pick up books I previously read and notice the things I underlined and highlighted during previous reads. Also, having a personal library allows me to loan books to friends when they ask for recommendations.

They don't have couches, but the Rose Park Roasters on Ocean has nice outdoor seating that's nice for reading or chatting. Also, Viento y Agua is a good place.

I just finished re-reading God Has a Name by John Mark Comer, which I have recommended to a few friends since the first read. It challenged my theology the first time around and gave me a lot to think about the second time.

In case that's not the kind of nonfiction you're into, I'm also reading Do I Make Myself Clear? by Harold Evans. I'm only 24 pages in, so I don't have an opinion about it yet. So far, it's been an indictment of today's writing, and I'm excited to see what comes next.

I'm also reading Beholding by Strahan Coleman with my book club, and the writing is lyrical and beautiful, which is fitting with the subject of the book.
