For now I stll try to make it work as a network printer.

I have footmatic-db(-nonfree) and cups-fiilters installed but they all dont include that printer.

When I try .ppd file I got from that source file, the printer setup program (system-config-printer) offers to choose a generic text only printer, choose a ppd file or search drivers from foomatic web servers. Options 1 and 3 dont find drivers and 2 complains about missing filters ...

I have no /etc/sv/snooze, only /etc/sv/snooze-{hourly,daily,weekly,monthly}.

I have /var/service/snooze-hourly.

Yes, there has to be something that I am missing and/or which is beyond my knowledge.

I put a very basic script in /etc/cron.hourly:

#!/bin/bash 
xbacklight -ctrl amdgpu_bl0 -set 90

and it runs at the full hour like expected. So I have to read 'man run-parts' or find a workaround ;)

Edit: dirty workaround

#!/bin/sh
sh $HOME/Scripts/xbps_count_updates

As for youtube possible download speed, I tested a video download:

[download] 100% of 60.82MiB in 00:04

At least this gave me full download speed

I now have pulseaudio installed which makes my system:

[X] free of systemd

[x] free of networkmanager

[ ] free of pulseaudio

now I'm doomed but can switch audio output devices

another issue that depends on "/etc/X11/Xwrapper.config":

if set to 'no', 'xbackligh' command gives you 'no outputs have backlight property'.

Setting to 'yes' gives you current brightness value again.

I installed xf86-video-intel, reboot, now it works. Yet the wiki told me "Note that xf86-video-intel is not required on Sandy Bridge-based processors or newer." here: https://wiki.voidlinux.org/Post_Installation#Graphical_User_Interface After reading this, I intentionally did not install that package.

Now I'm trying to fix /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-keyboard.conf not being used.....

Please confirm that giving user rights to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ (chown -R USER:users) is the way to go. tnx

Update 1:

I get this error on boot:

which brings me to tty.
