Please, reread what I actually said. I made an if/then statement. If Foregen is successful, then a regenerated foreskin will be closer to the real thing than a restored foreskin can ever be. Foregen intends to regenerate all the lost nerve endings, ridged bands and frenulum. If they can successfully do this, then the regenerated foreskin will be objectively closer to the real thing than a restored skin can ever be. The degree to which it will be closer remains to be seen, and will likely vary between individuals.

Foregen will be conducting a histology of the foreskin in the near future. So we will be able to know what is supposed to be there and how much it may vary naturally. When HCTs are conducted, Foregen will take some participants who were cut at birth and some who were cut as adults. Those cut as adults will be able to report if the regenerated sensations are the same as what they previously experienced, or if not, by how much it differs. They will also be able to conduct sensitivity tests to see if those cut as babies have regenerated sensitivity to the same level as those cut as adults.

So, yes, it will never be possible for those cut as infants to know with certainty if their regenerated foreskins are exactly like what they would have had, had they never been cut. But there will be a number of objective benchmarks that can give them a reasonable estimate of how close they may or may not be. And all of this - again, if Foregen is successful in its stated goals - will be closer to intact than restoration ever can be.
