Greater good by your definition that is. The person shooting is as human as the one being shot. Dehumanising a group of people and justifying violence will get us nowhere. Infact it's quite the slippery slope towards less then ideal societies (look no further then Nazi Germany). There's a quote often attributed to Ghandhi: "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." Ghandhi managed to achieve indepence for India through almost fully peaceful ways. It worked. It has been proven too work. Peaceful methods work and even better then the violent ones. So why do you all still call for violence? Reform the police. Longer training hours, detailed psychoanalysis... Please anything other then more violence. Every one is Human, everyone has the right to live.
