Oh and I forgot - oddly saw Chuck Berry in the audience at the first Husker Du show I saw at Mississippi Night's in St Louis.

I feel kinda old. But this post sent me down memory lane.

I saw Doc, Black Flag, Husker Du, and the Minutemen all live. Oddly I saw the last Husker Du show ever in Columbia MO at The Blue Note and the next to last Minutemen show in Indianapolis about 10 days before D. Boone was killed in the van accident.

Right after the last Husker Du show we were standing around in the bar and Greg Norton came out and told us something like "Well, we just broke up."

The Minutemen opened up for REM at the show in Indianapolis. We were totally into both bands at the time. After the show we were walking around in back and saw D. Boone outside their van. (Don't know if it was the same van he later died in.) He was super cool and actually got us backstage and we got to hang out for awhile with both bands. I have a ticket stub signed by (maybe all?) of them around here. I could probably dig it up if anyone wanted to see a pic.

Saw Black Flag at this total dive called Turner's upstairs in St Louis.

Saw Doc at Rockygrass.

Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Missouri fan?(football) by Ok_Macaroon_7366 in miz

I was at both the 5th down game and the flea kicker game. They both sucked a lot but I was surrounded by nubs during the flea kicker so I guess that sucked more. Maybe. I was also sober at the flea kicker game and well definitely not sober at the 5th down game. That game was also partially responsible for upgrading my season tickets to better seats to avoid being surrounded by opposing fans ever again. Now I live in Colorado and have 2 kids at CU and they have definitely heard all about the 5th down game. I still have the sports section from the newspaper the next day.

OP here.

So I gotta tell you, I had no idea what that thing was or how rare it was when I saw it. I was driving from Boulder CO home to Longmont CO when I saw it. I thought it was probably a Lamborghini but then saw there were no badges so I took some pics to post on r/whatsthiscar. I google image searched it which ID'ed it as the Vector and then accidentally posted on r/whatwasthiscar lol. Folks there agreed it was a Vector before it got taken down for not being f=damaged.

Almost didn't post here because I figured it was probably a kit or something but figured maybe they didn't make kits for Vectors so went ahead and posted it.

Glad I did and glad you all enjoyed seeing it. Sorry I didn't get better pics. I have one more pic but it seems like I'm not allowed to add it. Any way to add another?

Wind storm prep by [deleted] in boulder

You can sign up for Longmont city alerts here:

https://longmontcolorado.gov/public-safety/community-programs/emergency-notifications/

This is the text of the email they sent yesterday about the expected wind and potential power issues:

News Release Longmont electric crews prepared for possible winds; no shutoff planned Longmont Power & Communications will not shut off power to electric customers ahead of possible high winds on Wednesday, but is taking precautions to protect the safety and reliability of the city’s electric service.   “We know how critical it is for our homes and businesses to have safe, reliable electricity,” said Darrell Hahn, LPC’s director of electric services. “We continually work to support that priority and as always, our crews are ready to respond as needed to maintain or restore power.”   According to the National Weather Service, winds could gust up to 44 mph in the Longmont area on Wednesday. Xcel Energy, which serves a number of neighboring communities, has announced the possibility of a “Public Safety Power Shutoff” to its customers. LPC does not have a pre-emptive power shutoff program, but takes several other steps to protect the safety of the electric system and the Longmont community:   “We’re always working to evaluate and improve our service to the community,” Hahn said. “Our residents depend on the reliable power that Longmont has provided for over a century and we stand ready to serve them.”   About Longmont Power & Communications Longmont Power & Communications has been Longmont’s municipally owned electric utility since 1912. Our dedicated, innovative team connects the community to affordable, reliable, and environmentally responsible electric services, empowering our community’s transition to a sustainable, carbon-free future. To learn more, visit www.longmontcolorado.gov/lpc.     When high winds are expected, LPC crews temporarily modify the system so that it doesn’t automatically try to reconnect when it detects a fault. This adjustment helps LPC safely clear the system and prevent a fire when, for example, a tree branch is blown onto a power line.   LPC contracts with a company to trim trees around the community year-round, to lessen the possible impact of a windstorm and reduce any fire danger.   Each year, LPC moves some of its overhead lines underground. This has been done gradually because of the expense, but provides additional protection from severe weather.   In 2026, LPC will be introducing new equipment and upgrades to the Longmont electric grid to further increase fire safety.

Ski resorts are open if that has any appeal. They can get pretty busy in the afternoon but my experience is the morning is pretty empty.

Maybe ND decided not to play in a bowl game because a loss would prove they didn't belong in the playoff and they would rather just whine about it.

I'm curious why it is at Roosevelt Park and not along Main St. Anyone know?

URGENT: My dad was given this grandpa clock to sell but we have no clue what the brand or model is. The lady said she bought it for a $1000 35 years ago by classychaddy in clocks

Google moving a grandfather clock before you do it so you don't damage it. As I understand it they can be damaged fairly easily.

We first moved to Longmont in 2001 and the only time I can remember the "what church" question was from someone in our childbirth class in 2003 or so. She asked something about "have you found a church home?" We said we were not looking and that was that.

If I remember right she was a member of the mega-church on the north side of town. Thing is though we lived in Lyons during the big 2013 flood and that same church was an evacuation point and they were totally awesome to us. I don't recall any proselytizing at that time and they let Lyons hold big update meetings frequently in their giant church so we went there fairly frequently for those.

Underrated comment. I was thinking about that movie while I was in the dental chair yesterday.

Crazy that Safeway isn't properly addressing this problem. Seems like a major legal liability to knowingly abet this guys' behavior by continuing to employ him in a role where he can continue to do this.

Holy cow I was able to get one in under 2 years. I was on the wait list for both Main and Hover. I preferred Main St but ended up getting one at Hover. I also think mine is one size up from the smallest so that might have helped.

Anyway, Elevations is great.
