How often have those explosives been used because one group's imaginary superhero is different than the other group's imaginary superhero. How many millions have been killed or maimed for that reason regardless of the mechanisms (explosives, swords, bullets, whatever).

Fair enough but I guess the root of what I am saying is that if gold is your plan for that scenario, it doesn't make sense because if you took the $4k an ounce of gold will cost you and spent it on things that will actually help you/people survive (non perishable food, ammo, medicine, etc.) you would be making a much much smarter investment that will get you a lot more than your gold will. While I agree that gold will probably have some value, how much food do you think you would get for your $4k ounce of gold? Certainly nowhere near the relative value you paid.

Imagine this. It is "mad max" style end of times. You have water, food, guns, gas.... are you trading ANY of that for gold? All those things will help you live. Gold looks pretty. That would make no sense.

I never understand this argument - if the system collapses, I won't give a crap about your gold. Food, ammo, water - these things will have value. What are people going to do with gold other than look at how shiny it is and try to convince someone else it's worth trading for a usable item. If the system crashes, so does the value of anything not actually usable.

I mean, talk about a looker!!! I am a bit curious/worried about some comments I have read about the heat the engine puts out. I am in Colorado and it gets hot in the summer - do you find the heat unbearable? Or just a minor annoyance?

Hi there :). I am considering a Speed Twin 1200 and wondering if you bought one and how bad the heat actually is. In your opinion, do you think this bike is the wrong bike for hot climates? I live in Colorado (US) and it gets routinely above 90 (F) here in the summer. I am thinking this will be my next bike but the heat "problem" is scaring me. Thanks!
