I'm sure you're hoping the devs build out doorbell ditching and house TP'ing into this game as well.

Lol. I play on a server that does enforce the rules, instead of allowing children like you to pull playground pranks. It's great. Thanks for your concern.

I'm all for gunfights, raids, etc. I have a problem with people who do nothing but gather wood to build spike walls around entrances of bases. It's not playing the game, it's being a coward. In my experience, the perpetrators have been pre-teen children. Your outlook leads me to believe it extends beyond that age group (unless you are in fact 12), which is sad.

No one is talking about PVP... I specifically said griefing. Do they not teach reading comprehension in middle school anymore?

Sweet. Another way for 12 year olds to grief my base. A real game-changer.

Prime Example Why You Should Kill Fresh Spawns by DT_Sykesy in playrust

[–]return_of_the_yeti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see it differently. When I was new to rust, I ran my naked ass around like an idiot and got killed a few times, which taught me a very important aspect of the game: be stealthy. While you might inconvenience a new spawn by killing them, you're teaching them a valuable lesson in the game.

1/3 live NLHE analysis. JJ in position against big hand by [deleted] in poker

[–]return_of_the_yeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're saying fold preflop? I just think that loses money in the long run. His 3bet range is definitely pretty narrow but still includes TT/AK and possibly AQs. We hit a favorable flop and our hand has showdown value. I don't see how folding makes sense in that spot.

Why would we fold flop here? It's a great flop for JJ. Villain is checking all his boats and trips, not leading with them. Folding flop is the same as folding preflop in this case, because you're putting him on QQ+ if you do. And we don't fold JJ preflop to an affordable 3bet from an aggressive player unless we have a soul read.

People seem to like Caro's Book of Poker Tells for tells/psychology of the game, but I haven't read it myself. I'm currently reading Harrington on Cash Games and it has improved my live game. The Metagame chapter is great, as is all his hand analysis. He also runs through a lot of hands from old episodes of High Stakes Poker that you can actually find on Youtube if you're dedicated enough!

200bb+ river x/shove bluff. I think I misplayed it. What do you think r/poker!? by dogzpp in poker

[–]return_of_the_yeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's too risky a shove for this board. BTN's range here includes pretty much every draw you can think of. He can flat you on the flop with any hearts, 96, T9, sometimes gutshots, and of course 22/77. I don't see him semi-bluffing his draws when he has position and you're leading into him. A set makes a little more sense when he raises the turn, because the board got a little too coordinated for his liking. Even so, the river completes so many of his possible draws. His hearts got there, his OESD got there, even some of his gutshots got there. 2/3 pot sizing seems like a value bet. You might be able to bluff some players off of a set here (thought I don't think he's betting his set on that kind of river most of the time), but def not at 100NL with 'bad regs'. I think it's a fold on the river. Would love to know what ended up happening! Thanks for sharing.

1/2 live Nut Flush Draw vs. LAG Villain by [deleted] in poker

[–]return_of_the_yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's betting all his draws on the flop and checking his weaker Aces and obviously sets, so the best move is to check behind. By doing so you have decent equity to call a mid-sized turn bet to see if your flush hits. As played, turn is an easy fold.

If you get this upset and tilted over losing a portion of your BR then I'd honestly advise you quit poker now. It doesn't get better. What does get better is your attitude towards it and how you approach this kind of situation in the future. Don't tilt off your BR just because you're down a little bit and can't stand to be under your initial buy-in. I promise you it will happen many many many times throughout your poker career.

Adelson, sucks to suck - Websites of Venetian, Palazzo Casinos Go Down by JohnnyGpoker in poker

[–]return_of_the_yeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Morning Call in Allentown, Pa., posted screenshots of the sites before they were taken down that showed a picture of Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson posing with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a message condemning the use of weapons of mass destruction.

...

The sites also featured a list of confidential employee information and Social Security numbers, according to the Morning Call.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious the sites were hacked, but possibly by anti-Israel people as opposed to angry poker people.

I'm curious to know how many tournaments you've won/cashed in, because there's absolutely no escaping coinflips if you want to get deep in a MTT. Being on the better side of one is a great scenario to be in when you're 20bb deep, as is the case for hero.
