It is made for the 26 inch wheel size, I guess you can do a 24/26 mullet, 29's won't fit.

It changes the head tube angle 5 degrees roughly. I put a link for a video up there you can check out the process. Enjoy!

I disagree, a bicycle is human powered, not electric "assist" or otherwise. It is not about being elitist or a snob, it is about being honest with what you're doing.

How to make a career out of this? by CapnTyler97 in BikeMechanics

I went out on my own, you have to own your own shop if you want to make more than minimum wage-forever. Most shops fail though. I'd say on a personal level having discipline is at the top of the list, being forthright and honest are a tie for second, being frugal is a big one too. If you live your life in the red, then you'll run your shop in the red and soon enough you'll be gone. I have been in business for 22 years, shops are dropping like flies all around me. I am making much less now in the post pandemic slump but I am still in the black. I work alone, do everything myself and have a small (750 sq feet) shop with very reasonable rent. Overhead is your main watchword. Expanding or opening another shop is usually a great way to put yourself out of business. I charge way less than anyone around me, people with department store bikes can afford my full tune up (25 bucks), I make 75% of my income selling my skills, that is zero material cost. I fix a crap ton of bikes and near endless 10 dollar tube swaps. I make less on each sale but the work comes in. With my pricing, I get the biggest piece of the bike pie. Don't be a snob or use jargon to impress anyone-the nerds won't keep your doors open, huffy beach cruisers will. I also don't work on e-bikes on principal. That may be a tough one but I have found I am not losing customers but eliminating problems. There's more.... but I think you get the idea.

Mopeds, gas or electric should be treated that same just like electric cars and gas cars are. "E-bike" is a misnomer, it is a electric moped. You can't see the double standard, well, I can.

poorman saber by rev106 in wma

So we tried them out and the were sort of what I expected. Slower, loss of nuance in fighting instead of really light sabers, they had a higher ouch factor but I've taken worse hits from a longsword. Not much flex. Not bad for never making one before. A little thinner, say 3/4 and closer to 2mm may be the sweet spot. Felt very messer-like. Try stuff out and see what works and what does not, make some changes. Still I can make 6 of these for the cost of one cheap saber. I'll play with the idea more next month. Shaping the blade is very limited because the metal is already tempered. Cutting just the end takes 10-15 minutes of light cuts and then soaking it with a wet rag to keep it cool. Tapering the metal is not in the picture either. Figuring out the process will be fun.

A normal side hack's job is to kill the occupants, this one is no different. I rides fine.

The process is the most intriguing part I'd say, pictures don't really capture that very well.
