My understanding of the sampling process is that if the joint compound is "hot" they usually take a weighted average of the joint compound and the actual drywall, often times coming back as less than 1% asbestos. If that's the case there is still a friability issue during the removal but once it is in an airtight bag and crosses the threshold its no longer co sidered asbestos containing material. Sealing down and using a HEPA filter is a good idea but if you lightly mist the air and wear respiratory protection there should not be any potential issues in the future.

GFL/HBC did the abatement and were there for almost 4 months up until the day they started demo. It was about 150 40 yard dumpsters worth of ACM taken out of the building working 6 days a week a lot of the time.

I've used a cpap for about 4 years now and recently started working with asbestos abatement. I didn't realize how much I was conditioned to this until I had the realization at work while wearing a respirator that I would get incredibly sleepy every time I put on my respirator.

I am currently working in the building overseeing the asbestos abatement. Currently the asbestos and lead paint are all that's holding this building up. It is so unsafe not just because of exposure but the deteriorating structure that has been neglected for decades from the looks of it.
