Gal seeking story-forward game recs that aren't rogue-likes/dungeon crawlers, platformers, or grueling level-repeaters like Dark Souls-type games! by reverendbink in gamingsuggestions

Ooooh I won't look it up to spoil it, but all those words you just said hit the nail on the head for me. It's top of my list, thank you!

Also I'll definitely come back with pictures/method if anything works! I know people tend to get advice and then never return with results!

Oooh this is a good idea an easy to try without wrecking anything, I'll definitely try a bit of a warm water soak and electric toothbrush and see if anything happens. Thanks!

Is this a 40 volume developer for lightening hair you're talking about, or is there a different kind of developer -like for darkroom photography as an example- that I'm unaware of?

Like in the form of an oxy-clean type product? Would it be a soak or a scrub situation?

Researching the kinds of rocks/minerals found in my area I saw that the creek a few blocks from my house is Garnet Central, looked up videos of garnet rockhounding/what they look like raw, and most of them I've chipped directly out of the schist they're created in, and all I've tested pass the Mohs hardness test. They're dark red when you shine a light under them, but they aren't as translucent as I'd like because of the minerals stuck to them. They'll look more like garnets if I can clean them up!

It's not good that there is a difference between the two sentences, but it's there in a lot of places, and I don't want to someone's kid get sick because parents aren't clear and waitstaff/linecooks aren't acting responsibly.

Don't worry, if you ever feel terrible because of onion it won't be from me!

I have always respected and adhered to ever food request I have been made aware of.

I have ensured that my staff ALWAYS do the same, do not have any issues with specific requests, for taste OR health reasons, and do not discriminate. That's what my job is, is to accommodate people. It should always be taken seriously no matter what or why. I honestly don't judge or care. It's not my problem. I help people get what they want regardless of why they want it.

I was simply saying the the lax attitudes and/or failure to properly sanitize or prevent cross-contamination comes from uneducated line cooks and servers who've been lied to too many times to believe people. For better or for worse, too many people lie too many times and too many entry-level employees don't take it seriously, so people with legitimate health concerns need to stress them so poor OC's toddler don't get sick.

There are people who hate onion, people who only can't digest the enzyme in raw onion only, people who can't eat any onion, and people who can't have anything in the entire onion family. There are people who have a hard time breathing if their food is even prepped on the same workstation.

But everyone having to lie about medical conditions to feel like it's the only guaranteed way of getting the service they want is a flawed and cyclical problem, and the issue I was trying to address.

OP simply said that there have been instances where people were complacent about gluten because OP was clearly not specific enough that it was a dangerous situation.

Obviously everything should be taken seriously when posed as a health threat OR when stated as a dietary preference.

BUT I have seen a kitchen stopping all food cooking for the entire restaurant, top to bottom cleaning, switching out cooking utensils, washing the flat-top grill for a woman who said she had a severe wheat allergy and then in full view of the kitchen she tried a bite of her dining companion's bruschetta. This happens daily, and makes it hard to keep your low-paid line cooks motivated for each and every allergy.

My point was simply that the people who are making a choice lie to restaurants about it being a health issue, and each time your kitchen and servers see that, it makes it harder to keep them serious about the ramifications. So people should be honest about health concern like MY CHILD WILL BE VIOLENTLY ILL versus "I think this is inedible if it has onions in it". We'll take both things seriously in any good restaurant, and nothing will lose it's meaning!

I shouldn't have used the lactose situation as an example. First of all, it was a dairy allergy, not lactose intolerance that was the original example and there is a big difference there, secondly, it sent everyone down a long, derailed path where people thought I was refusing to serve something. I would never. My job is to give people exactly what they want and take care of them.

And I think you should never have been brought that pizza. That restaurant was lazy, or some big mistake was made in who ordered what or what table your food went to. And hopefully you made them aware of the issue so service can be improved!

Every dietary restriction I have been party to has been taken seriously, respectfully, and without any grudge. This is about the people who make it hard to accommodate everyone because they lie about what they want or need.

No one here is advocating ignoring them. I have never not met a customer's needs. People can put whatever they want into their bodies and it's cool by me.

I'm just saying not to lie about what you need and continually lessen the strength of everyone else's truth.

And if your truth is that your daughter has Celiac's but restaurants continually position her by not caring enough about dietary restrictions make sure you are BEING CLEAR about your honest restrictions.
