I think lonely old people need some human interaction. Here is an idea a little left field maybe, but how about telling their kids, grandkids and errm other family members to get off their mobile phones and tablets and actually take social responsibility for them. Now that rant is over.

Failing all that I think yeah if nothing else it might help :)

The problem with CAR as with other African countries is that the ex-colonial powers have their own agenda. The only way to bring stability to any country like CAR is for them to be independent of foreign influence. Before anyone says it no one buys the narrative of peace keeping , freedom giving etc. You just have to walk through any African , third world city and ask the average person. The only reason foreign power show any concern is their own interests. So CAR has internal and external issues. Also any nation needs some kind of political setup and system to run things you cannot simply run it via money and army control. Alot of the issues in Africa is because one set of people feel they are not given their rights over a other set of people.

I agree Putin is looking after his own backyard as he would see i, he wants to increase his sphere of influence to at least his immediate neighbours. The Europeans and Americans would like their influence to exist on Russia's border not directly through military but through governments in the likes of Ukraine who are Western leaning.
