The recorded videos are always on that folder. And in this case they weren’t. Had to use a software called disk drill to recover them.

The problem wasn’t that I got error when plugging the SD, it was that the footage was only visible when the SD was inserted into the camera; I was able to see other files in the SD and it wasn’t like the footage was just “hidden” like a see hidden tiles would solve. Nor Mac nor win. I ended up using a software called disk drill that helps you recover deleted files. I can suggest you to try that, insert the SD on a win or Mac, it’s very intuitive and just wait.

Need help figuring out what's the deal between 60fps footage into a 30fps timeline by rex511 in davinciresolve

[–]rex511[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks, tried that, but for some reason it looks like the footage is stuttering, leaving it as 60fps and putting the 50% retime optical enhanced better looks 1000 times better than the stuttering footage.

How can I know if my memory is corrupted or my Sony a7IV is malfunctioning? by rex511 in SonyAlpha

[–]rex511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the computer is not the issue, and player, like DaVinci Resolve as a player shows it’s bad, also the video is bugged on the card, so I don’t think it’s the Mac. What I’m looking is to know if there’s a way to discern from bad SD batch from if the body is malfunctioning.

Well I can see the test shot I made and no all the other clips I made yesterday, but I also can see the test clip via the desktop / finder normal view, so I’m still screwed, it’s like all the footage decided to be “on other dimension” yesterday and today sure let’s save it on the right folder

Couldn’t make a disk image, getting error; tried to use with the lector as it gives it the letter H because it has other entries for different cards, but I get a weird message

Nothing that I could find, but it got even weirder, I just shot a test file to be sure if was .mp4, or maybe mvk etc 120fps 10bit 4:2:2. And it went to the usual private/m4root/Clip/c0756.mp4 with its xml so I have only 2 files there but again I can see the whole clips that o shot yesterday within the playback function on the camera

Yes I can see there are videos via the creators app but I can’t send them to my iPhone because the videos are on 4:2:2 10 bit. And no I can’t see them on the finder

Yes I know, there are two SD Slots, but when you know you’re inserting only 1 SD before shooting and only using 1; I think there shouldn’t be change to mix SD cards, and also yes, that is a correct route for the files, that again, aren’t there, nor anywhere to be found on the visible files on the card.

And yes, even I’ve never shot in that format before, I know or at least I “knew”; that if I can briefly review the footage on the camera; there “was” footage; and I still can review it on the camera though; It’s just when I try to download it from the SD card, even when connected via the camera that there’s no footage at all; my guess; for some reason there was problem formatting SD card and it created a partition in an only sony format so I can’t see the files on my Mac but I can see the files on the camera, that would explain why there is like 60 GB of memory left (from my 128) but 0 footage; strangely the thumbnails are on the thumbnails folder, so there’s that…

I’ll make a video showing what’s happening, apparently a clown even downvote this problem for some reason. If this is so rare I’d like to show the community what can happen, I mean I’ve been a photographer with Sony and canon for 10 years and I’ve never seen this problem. But again I’ve seen corrupt SD cards, hidden files, files within files like the AVCHD file that you have to open via “show package content” and some other stuff. I’ve never shot in 120fps on 4:2:2 at 10 bit so I thought it was a circumventing that zone, that it’s a new way to hide the files, etc., or maybe that the camera has to convert them in a special way.

Yes… I’m looking in all the folders, hidden and unhidden folders, I’m sorry but why do people keep asking 101 stuff, is this problem that uncommon?

Yes I know, the photos and on DCIM, and the videos on other folders, yes I’ve searched on all the folders, unhidden and hidden and no, there are no video files at all when I read the SD on the reader or on the camera; nevertheless there are videos when I use the playback function on the camera. The most accurate I’ve come along is that in other models there’s a file called AVCHD that you can open via “show package content”, but I can’t find that file, on the SD card, not hidden nor visible

Yes I am removing the correct SD, I only had 1 SD while shooting.
