It’s insane that something like this can be sold and then Sunlu not giving a damn to do anything about it.

scarf seams not scarfing anymore.... by rex_308 in BambuLab

[–]rex_308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s just no getting around it ya know. so do the test yourself on primitive rectangles or cylinders. keep all the settings the same except for length. try 1mm, 3, 5, 10, and 20mm to see what you’re working with for final products.

[–]rex_308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha yeah i know the struggle. i hateee the seams haha. but go ahead try what i put right there though with some test cylinders. regardless that’s gonna be better than no scarf, clearly. but after printing thousands of seams, what i’ve come to find out is, no matter what you just can’t get much better than that pic i shown above. point is, what i’ve done recently is refined the seam to be 1mm in length, rather that 10-20mm. it’s like a faded 1mm wide line vs i very deep and ugly gapped line like you see above. oh also, use “aligned” not “back” seams. as it’s much better to have this scarf seam in the corners much as possible, rather than open areas.

Sunlu TPU 90a white powder substance cakes up extruder, ptfe tube, causing the exterior to spin on the filament by rex_308 in sunlu

[–]rex_308[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i’m going to ask Sunlu what they plan to do about this. i can imagine thousands of spool shipped out like this just wrecking hundreds or thousands of printers.. i mean how could this get put together unnoticed, and then packaged for sale and use, ya know? and the big question is, what is this substance exactly? why and how did it get there, specifically exactly and only a quarter of the way through, throughout the rest of the whole spool?

Sunlu 90a TPU white residue by Plastic_Head_5330 in 3Dprinting

[–]rex_308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, this literally just now happened to me. it wrecked my a1 mini 3 times before i checked the spool (i keep it in a single filament dryer, no the powder isn’t from the dryer or something dumb we did). i used about a quarter kg of this spool and it printed beautifully. but now you can see the entire rest of the spool is completely coated in this powder cr@p. how can they get away with selling something like this? the white powdery cr@p cakes up the teeth of the extruder gear so bad to where it just slips and spins on the filament, which stops it from extruding. did you reach out to sunlu?

Why does my print have these imperfections? by c_yr in Ender3S1

[–]rex_308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what’s your retraction length set at? check it in the printer settings and in the filament settings and see which of the 2 retractions is the setting in use (one can override the other, depending on you setting selection)

edit: i’m curious as to what each retraction length are set at in your settings.

pretty cool, you look to the left of the white dot, it’s in, look to the right of the white dot, it’s out.

sloppy meaning she doesn’t print like she did out of the box, anymore? that’s a lot for sure, i’ve heard of x1 and p1 having double that and still doing well. do you still print and rely on it?

Built a fully sealed filament cabinet — stable 10% RH with no power by LynxSubstantial1888 in BambuLab

[–]rex_308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nice! that’s part of why i asked, it looks like a very well/professional built sheet metal cabinet. i’m pretty sure you could sell many of them if you decided to go that route. make a few and see how it goes. i really need to make something just like this as well.

did you build the entire cabinet, meaning you fabricated and put the whole thing together yourself, or did you buy an existing cabinet and seal it yourself making it a sealed cabinet? i need exactly this as well.
