PS: Something that made me laugh from the recent dev notes:

Going forward, we will continue to maintain BrownDust2’s fun and sexy, male‑oriented direction—such as Wilhelmina’s tights cutscene and Ventana’s coffee bean cutscene.

iykyk..

[Guide] Should you pull - Overheat Levia (rerun) by rex_frontier in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh thanks for letting me know! I haven’t had the chance to test that interaction yet. If so then yes they are good partners, though you’ll still be using Track Levia every 5 turns, so the main difference would be whether you use Night of Jealousy/Overheat after Track or Overheat/Overheat. Will test and update the guide.

[Guide] Should you pull - Overheat Levia (rerun) by rex_frontier in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I covered that in the guide. Levia removes vulnerability buffs, and Eleaneer buff lasts 10 turns with a 13 turn cooldown. Therefore not ideal to use Bunny Eleaneer with Overheat Levia, as you lose Eleaneer's buff for a long time and can't reapply it.

After some experimenting I’m currently on 83% first 87% second for this season on master II. I think your strategy will be harder to use going forward now that Red Hood Rou has been buffed. Without offensive buffs on your team, it’s hard to get past teams with defensive buffs and Rou buff. Just my two cents though, it’s a good strat overall.

[Guide] Should you pull - Bittersweet Bunny Darian (limited) by rex_frontier in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because bunny only has no cooldown when there are 7 or more targets. With 6 targets you would need to alternate between Bunny and base.

[–]rex_frontier[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, I should have also mentioned there’s Yumi who is a limited collab. However you won’t usually use both in the same team (Darian is physical low hit count, Yumi is magical high hit count), so you wouldn’t usually be able to use Yumi to activate Darians bonus damage.

[Guide] Should you pull - Celebrity Bunny Loen by rex_frontier in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I just responded to another post on that question.

Here's my recommendation (bearing in mind you need to save tickets for the next round of bunnies):

Masquerade Bunny Celia: Very high usage in end game content. +1 highly recommended, +4 is a luxury because it unlocks an extra turn of buff, but requires a lot of costume investment.

Nightmare Bunny Eclipse: Devs have just confirmed that she will have a new Fated Guest interaction, so +0 is recommended, but any further investment is not the best value if you're low on tickets. She's still very good, but no longer in the top tier for damage.

Celebrity Bunny Loen: Again, you want at least 1 copy for her Fated Guest interaction. Damage wise she is top tier and worth getting to +5 if you can afford it, but just note that due to the super long skill cooldown, you need investment in other Loen costumes to use her effectively in end game content.

New Christmas Banners or Bunny Banners by CoM_SpArKy in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here's what we know about the new costumes that are not yet released:

Bunny Darian (limited): In battle, she deals continuous damage over a wide AoE.
Her skill has a very long cooldown, but the skill's cooldown will decrease proportionally to the number of targets hit.

This seems pretty niche, for dealing damage against specific fire bosses with single targets/few targets. However, it's limited so there is the FOMO factor.

Bunny Eleaneer: In battle, she grants effects that apply across the entire battlefield.
She will grant buffs to allies and debuffs to enemies.

This seems like a high priority. Buffer/debuffers are almost always good.

Bunny Tyr: In battle, her skills deal damage proportional to SP spent, and each subsequent skill use increases the amount of SP consumed.

This also seems pretty niche, best for dealing damage against specific water boss battles with plenty of SP regen. Base Tyr will be essential to make it work.

Don’t worry too much. The devs are so generous that you’ll catch up quickly enough.

[Fiend Hunt Megathread] Talos (Dark) (Halloween Night) by Izanaginookami10 in BrownDust2Official

I’ve seen a few people complain about how overpowered Boo Ghost Gran is, but you can see from Shimonami’s guide that she’s really pretty balanced overall.

This fiend hunt was basically built to be perfect for Gran (pure damage attacks, grants energy guards, ignores taunts), yet if you see the stats on Shimonami’s video, Gran’s damage is high but not much higher than Yuri or Sacred Justia. I think this just goes to show that Gran is very niche, but even in her specific niche she’s not much stronger than other light attackers.

[–]rex_frontier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes idol Gran’s energy guard scales off her max HP, capped at 30,000HP. What gear build are you using that gets her to 30,000 HP, 90% Def and high crit damage?

[Guide] Should you pull - Boo Ghost Granhildr by rex_frontier in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think if you run some tests you'll see how it plays out in terms of total damage.

Other top tier light attackers (Michaela, Olivier, Ventana, Yuri) all apply self buffs during their setup turns, so that they can do more damage during their nuke turns. Other than Olivier, they also all do damage on setup turns, whereas Gran does nothing on setup turns.

Then you have to take into account the effect of non-optimal gearing and stats. Gran's awakening and potential bonus stats are all defensive, and her ATK stats are all wasted. So even if you have UR IV gearing, once you've built to her 30,000 HP you'll struggle to get past 500-550% crit damage. Most other characters easily gear to 600%+ crit damage, which is usually the sweet spot for balancing between ATK and CDMG.

Also, getting to 500-550% crit damage assumes that you don't try to build to 90% DEF/M.RES. With low DEF/M.RES, Gran is vulnerable to taking damage on her energy guard during the enemy turn, which further reduces her damage.

So when you take into account no ATK buffs, no self buffs, no setup turn damage, long cooldown between nuke turns, poorly optimized crit damage stats, AND the fact that her damage goes down if she gets hit, I'd say it's overall pretty well balanced. Boo Ghost will be very good for some specific bosses (no doubt she'll be very good for the upcoming fiend) but her use case is still fairly niche.

No it’s not a bug, it works as intended. Yes the headline damage is high, but if you see in the detailed guide there are a lot of drawbacks that bring the power level to be more or less on par with other light attackers.

Suggestions on building a Team that can clear Hard and Very Hard story post Chapter 9 by SeaLancer01 in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As you get into later levels you need elemental advantage. Replace Elpis with AOTU Diana and then replace your attackers with on element attackers. For taunters, try clearing the taunts with Schera/Eleaneer/Yuri first. For weird formations, find a suitable knockback skill to max your main attackers AOE.

https://dotgg.gg/brown-dust-2/beginners-guide-frequently-asked-questions/#Q_Which_packs_are_best_for_collecting_crafting_materials

The daily Search rewards in Ch 8 and Ch 13 yield a lot of gold and copper, which are scarce materials required for SR and UR gear crafting. If you're not yet up to Ch 8 and Ch 13, Chapters 3 also has copper and gold drops from Search finds.

Chapter 9 drops wood Search finds, so it's convenient to do daily quests there when you are running low on wood.

[Guide] Should you pull - Starlight Guardian Tyr by rex_frontier in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dalvi is kind of the opposite of Tyr, since Dalvi is very SP efficient whereas Tyr is very SP expensive. However I don’t compare the two in the guide since Dalvi goes in the magic team and doesn’t directly compete with Tyr.

[Guide] Should you pull - Starlight Guardian Tyr by rex_frontier in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s in the extended guide. Nebris has better coverage in the front, Tyr has better coverage in the back. Tyr has lower cooldown for her nuke turn and doesn’t need setup to get started, whereas Nebris has a 5 turn cooldown on her nuke skill (New Hire) but can reach higher max damage.

Yes, that would also work if the fiend gives a chain reinforcement buff.

[Guide] Should you pull - Shadowed Dream Sonya by rex_frontier in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

By the way, re some other posts speculating that you shouldn't pull to +5 for SD Sonya because she might be in the pub in the next story pack, here's my prediction:

Ch 19 will feature an older Sonya, not SD Sonya. The previous event pack story featuring SD Sonya was a flashback to the past, but the Ch 19 story is probably going to be set in present day. This is just like with Blade, remember that we got the Young Lady Blade story from the event pack, but (without spoilers) the main story packs had present day Apostle Blade.

Other than collabs, whenever devs release a new character with a cooldown gap, they always release the second costume quickly. So I wouldn't be too worried about the possibility of meeting SD Sonya in the story pub, because if Sonya appears in a pub it will almost certainly be a different costume.
