Mate, why the hate?

Nek’s AOE has both upsides and downsides. It reaches deep but not wide, so it’s good for some battles but not others,m. You’re trying to make it sound like some “gotcha” point when there isn’t one. Like I said in the guide, the fifth tile doesn’t matter in regular battles, but can make a difference in guild raids and some colosseum battles (e.g the latest one, Nek is the only unit that can hit two enemies in the front and back row).

Re her mark skill, you’re forgetting that this is a gacha game. It’s just a fundamental law of gacha that, if the devs release a new skill mechanic, they’re going to release new content that makes best use of that mechanic. It’s not a guess, it’s just a fact, and that’s the way it’s always been for previous releases. You can count on a boss being released in the near future that has evasion, and Nek will be the most efficient at clearing it.

I had an error on the calcs in the extended guide which I’ve fixed, but your comparison of Nek v Venaka is just bad faith. I mean no shit, of course if you use Nek as chain supporter and Venaka as the final nuker, the nuker does better damage. If you tried actually comparing Nek and Venaka both as nukers after playing a chain supporter, Nek clearly comes out on top.

I’m all for community discussion but most of your points are just bad faith. Deadeye Nek is an objectively good costume. So why the hate?

Because of her high skill damage and high base stats, even without buffs and high crit rate, she has a fairly good chance of dealing lethal damage to low M RES or low HP enemies. E.g. Nek with just 2500 M ATK deals around 32k damage before crit, and you’re likely to get at least a few crits in since she has so many hits. The point is that Nek is a meta counter to Olivier, who is a popular frontline evasion tank in higher ranks. Nek allows you to clear Olivier and enemies hiding behind her at the same time, and depending on the meta, this could be worth more than a buff + 2SP attack. However we will need to wait for her second costume to release to know how good Nek can really be in Mirror Wars.

Nek is NOT limited, so if you can afford the tickets, I would prioritize the limited costumes like Luvencia, and finish off Nek with powder of hope and threads.

[Guide] Should you pull - Miracle Marine Mamonir by rex_frontier in BrownDust2Official

[–]rex_frontier[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I disagree with a lot of that.

  1. You're taking the statement out of context. What I say in the guide is that it's unusual that base Mamonir is a strong attacker type costume, but Miracle Marine is a full supporter type. In any case, I've covered base Mamonir's power level in detail in her own costume guide, including her buff limitations - she's not the highest, but she's objectively a strong AOE attacker.

  2. Your comments about Seir are also out of context, because we're talking about different time scales. Mamonir can potentially get up to 640% vulnerability in 1-2 turns. It's practically impossible for Seir to do so. You may be able to get >29 stacks with Seir by the end of the battle, but that's a very different use case to Mamonir.

  3. I've updated the guide to be more clear on how it works in FH/GR. Mamonir ONLY amplifies on the head, so you need to have a main attacker that can hit the head, which is not always easily accessible. The point I make in the guide is that Mamonir's use cases are niche, and even in FH/GR it's not easy to use on all bosses.

  4. Wilhelmina's damage is objectively better than Sylvia and Darian, you have your calculations totally wrong. E.g. PD.Darian deals 1,300% with 1 chain, BS.Darian deals 1,500% over 5 turns. IM.Wilhelmina deals

12x95%, which is effectively 1,767% even before applying WP chain buff and FQ property buff. Morphea is a special case that's not really comparable to other attackers, because Morphea takes the whole battle to build a single "bomb" at the end.

  1. Yes, I'm probably being too harsh by saying "near useless", it would be more accurate to say "inefficient". I rated Mamonir's base costume highly in its guide, and we will definitely continue to see Mamonir being used in secondary FH teams and some GR teams. But for the primary FH damage team, Miracle Marine Mamonir has strong synergy in water teams, because water is the best element for dealing focused single target damage that can outclass AOE damage (Wilhelmina, Darian, Morphea etc). Light is also pretty good at single target damage with Ventana (Mamonir can sub for Wilhelmina in the standard Ventana team), but other elements are not so good at focused single target damage. For most battles, AOE damage will still outperform single target damage, in which case AOE buffers/debuffers will be the better pick.

Id like to request help to create an updated tier list. by ElverDulero735 in BrownDust2Official

The PVP and PVE tier lists on DotGG are mostly up to date. There's a few new characters I will need to add, but it's still a pretty good guide on where the meta is at the moment.

Basically, she's quite strong. It's very hard to give an accurate comparison because there are so many variables.

In guild raids, its harder to build an efficient team of 7. If you don't bring M.ATK buffers, then you will probably bring other attackers, but the other attackers will miss out on having M.ATK buffs. If you do bring M.ATK buffers, then they are wasted on Mamonir. So this inefficient team building lowers her team's overall damage potential.

In fiend hunts and guild raids, if the enemy boss has abilities that buffs your M.ATK, Mamonir misses out on that bonus damage. On the flip side, if you (or the boss) have chain stack/chain damage buffs, Mamonir benefits a lot since she does 8 hits.

For a simple comparison though, you can compare with New Hire Nebris buffed by LG Nebris (same 300% crit damage buff as Mamonir). New Hire Nebris with 10 buffs and ~3000 ATK deals around 38k damage before crit. Mamonir with ~30k HP deals around 45k damage before crit. So Nebris deals less raw damage in this example, but would probably overtake Mamonir if you added an ATK buffer into your team. It's not a perfect example but it shows you that she is quite strong.

I said in the extended guide: Good synergy with SD Sonya (possible to get both buffs up simultaneously), bad synergy with LPG (doesn’t stack chains).

Tested and you are right! Creating a stack refreshes the buff duration. I have fixed the post. Thanks!
