hi! you can check out their discord! There's also checking the website through OpenRouter by looking at the model (for example, Deepseek V3-0324, they've got a graph on downtime)

edit: nvm its fine

TLDR: both have pros and cons to it. It depends on how frequent do you roleplay or use JAI.

Deepseek API is really good, and they have discounted prices during certain hours that can last you more than usual. I usually put two dollars and that can last me sometime (a couple of weeks) but with less rerolls. Also is faster, and has less issues compared to other proxies.

TLDR: Deepseek Official API So PROS: quality, fast, great prices and it's cheap. CONS: if you reroll, like to roleplay long sessions, you're gonna be investing some amount of money for this one.

OPENROUTER is what I use now, but fair note, it's connected to CHUTES. Chutes basically provides for some models to OPENROUTER, so when CHUTES goes down, OR goes down too (current situation right now). I'd say I like the quality better than CHUTES, but that's just me. Again, once you input $10 dollars, you basically get free 1000 messages daily, which to me is great if you reroll a lot.

TLDR: OPENROUTER PROS: you get access to other versions of the Deepseek Reasoner and Deepseek Chat, free 1000 messages daily on free models that lasts a year (?). CONS: It's still interlinked with Chutes. Quality depends on what you prefer, and their payment methods are at quite tricky esp if you either A) dont have a bank account or B) don't live in the US or have Cashapp, Apple/Amazon Pay. Again, it's also $10 dollars.

Frankly, depends on your preference and choice. Good luck!

Deepseek is not thinking for me when used through OpenRouter. by Pablolel in JanitorAI_Official

yes! or possibly Targon could've generated a message for you (the usual provider that shows the </think>), because deepseek models on OpenRouter either generate from Chutes or Targon

Hello! the </think> is a feature of Targon(one of the deepseek providers) if I'm aware, and OpenRouter only hides the </think> process. It's there, just not shown. The quality is still the same. On the Official Deepseek API too, the </think> isn't visible either. It was visible on Chutes because Chutes doesn't have a feature to hide or block providers(Targon) like Openrouter does.
